The core four-piece of the group were known as the Chatto Quartet, a classically trained string quartet that performed J.S. Bach and cited Jacqueline du Pré as an influence, but their post-show, wind-down music often consisted of garage, two-step, Craig David, and Arcade Fire tracks. The quartet members were aware of both producer Jon Wandeck and MC Ssegamic through the duo's work in photography, and when Wandeck suggested they play on one of his house music cuts, Clean Bandit were born. With MC Ssegamic on the mike, they released the classical-meets-house-meets-hip-hop-meets-heartbreak song "Telephone Banking" in the summer of 2011. Their Dance Armstrong mixtape followed in 2012, while 2013 saw the release of their Mozart's House EP. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Clean Bandit 2013 17 Mozart's House -1- 2013 43 Dust Clears -2- 2014 01 Rather Be (Clean Bandit Feat. June 15, 201412 yr Aw no, 'Extraordinary' should be a lot higher than this. :( I gave their album a spin earlier in the week and I'm really liking it!
June 15, 201412 yr Their new single will end up with 1/10 sales of "Rather Be" which it's very disappointing. The song is not bad though.
June 15, 201412 yr This is incredible, should still be top 20 :( Edited June 15, 201412 yr by Cameron
June 15, 201412 yr 4 weeks for 'Rather Be' to overtake 'Extraordinary'. Very reminiscent of 'La La La'/'Lifted'!

June 15, 201412 yr Ooh this could potentially re-peak then in the upcoming weeks! 'Clarity' actually sounds a LOT better than I'd remembered, far superior than 'Stay the Night'.

June 15, 201412 yr Still adore this track, a year and a half on. I still think it was a pointless re-release but I'm glad it's given it a few extra sales.
