June 22, 201412 yr I never expected Sam Smith to be higher than Coldplay in the albums this week. Hope the sales are good.
June 22, 201412 yr 05 04 05 Sam Smith Stay With Me In The Lonely Hour | 2014 http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music4/v4/a2/a2/da/a2a2da6d-21c0-7240-f176-52abf7cd404e/14UMGIM09454.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 1-2-2-4-5 Release date: 18-05-2014 Format: digital single Label: Capitol Records Sales: 200k+ Video here: pB-5XG-DbAA Biography Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2012 11 Latch (Disclosure Feat. June 22, 201412 yr Very poor start to the top 5 - 'Stay With Me' is one of the most dreary songs I've ever heard. :(
June 22, 201412 yr Chart histories are top 75 and that didn't make it. Oh sorry, I could've sworn it charted at #68 or something like that.

June 22, 201412 yr Stay With Me is miles better than Money On My Mind but definitely not a fan though, his voice is a bit grating.
June 22, 201412 yr JLo ending up missing the top 40 anyway despite climbing over the mids. That weekend effect. (Klaxons nearly missing the top 40 as well, eek). Ouch at J-Lo :(
June 22, 201412 yr That is a disastrous result for Klaxons! Ouch. I'm still gutted 'There Is No Other Time' bombed so badly. :(

June 22, 201412 yr Budapest is really nice, his voice is really good. Wasn't expecting him to look like that though :P
June 22, 201412 yr deadmau5 having another top 20 album is great to see. He'll probably never go in the singles chart again so any albums success is appreciated. Tiesto missing top 20 and not becoming his highest album peak despite containing his only 2 top 10 hits though oops
June 22, 201412 yr Klaxons as low as #38 :( ~ What a result for the 'Budapest' re-release! The lyrics took a while to decipher, but they are gorgeous. His vocals are so heartfelt, also!
June 22, 201412 yr Tom Odell's support act from his 2013 tour doing better than poor Tom ever did with his single :kink: :( (exactly a year after Another Love charted also, fun)
June 22, 201412 yr nice entry for george ezra :) - just hope it doesn't spend 3/4 months in the top 10 :(
