I remember the day I got X in the post, it was a Monday, I was ill from school and needed a boost. Along came this masterpiece and I felt better. I also remember clearly when
2 Hearts debuted and I knew then it was gonna be her best song ever. I still hold that opinion now. X is just a perfect album, I could easily have given this my 11, I will also say right
now that any shade against 2 Hearts, Nu-Di-Ty or Cosmic will result in your warn level being raised. Be warned. This might not have been the album people thought Kylie would
have done after her cancer, but it did have a few personal tracks, namely Stars, Cosmic and No More Rain, plus unreleased gems Extraordinary and Flower. there have been loads
of leaks of unused tracks for this album, enough for an X-2 tbh. All of them are lush, but so are the main album tracks. This was probably the last time Kylie take something of a risk with her music, 2 Hearts as a debut single, the sound on some of the tracks, the general lack of sound on the album, it all makes for a really fun album IMO. Rippin' Up The Disco shoulda been a main album track too. Oh and, Nu-Di-Ty >>> ur favs

I don't have any issue with Nu-Di-Ty, but Cosmic is saccharine crap and 2 Hearts is the worst lead single of her career (not to mention a total damp squib of a song whatever way you cut it). Heart Beat Rock is also a total non-starter.

 

No More Rain, especially live, is a moment of utter utter beauty though and Stars, Sensitized and Like A Drug are among the best album tracks of her career.

Incase you lot were not aware, we are down to the final two albums. Locked in a battle of wits, two powerful forces of nature, think Captain America vs. The Winter Soldier, Batman vs. The Joker, my Mother vs. technology...

X ROBBED. Light Years will probably win now, yawn.

Light Years isn't her very best album, but seeing as KM94 is long gone then it ought to win. That said, a GH winning would be quite fitting for Kylie too (someone with only 2/3 actually great albums, but hoards of amazing singles)

Got to be Ultimate Kylie for the win. I mean, it is erm, Ultimate Kylie. Pre iPod it was just the erm, ultimate.

 

LY is always going to be the album that brought her back so no wonder it rates highly. Varied and fun with loads of hits. Shame they released the singles so quickly. We were cheated out of a 5th spring single. Kids on OANLT were 4 weeks apart. 3 top two in a row. Ah the excitement of summer 2000, SA entering at 1. I can still smell the air, remember the feeling, recall all the other ace hits around. Music, Rock DJ, Lady.., Don't Call Me Baby. Vodka and Red Bull nights!

2 Hearts is awful though, let's admit it.

I really don't understand how so many hate '2 Hearts'! Everyone has different tastes but I really don't know what most see so bad in it! :lol: I particularly love the opening: bass, drums, followed by sexy Goldfrapp-esque vocals. Lush. :wub:

 

The album holds many gems, namely the UK singles, 'Like a Drug' and 'Speakerphone'. It's just a shame the album is spoiled by the duds 'Heart Beat Rock' and 'Nu-di-ty' - no question about it, those two should have been left off, and to be honest, even though I like them, I wouldn't mind 'All I See' and 'Cosmic' going just to make it room for some of those B-sides.

I do like the X album, it's just "2 Hearts" wasn't a good lead single, the follow ups Wow, In My Arms, The One were miles better, in fact The One would have made a better lead single. Also White Diamond should have made the album as well

2 Hearts as lead single was a terrible choice when you consider how many great songs appear on the album that would have made much stronger starts for the X campaign.

 

Light Years for the win but Ultimate Kylie is more than worthy is it manages to top the vote.

Before we wrap this up, I think it'd be nice to see what the average scores of everyone who voted was. To see who was kind and who was stricter with their scoring of

our lord and mistress.

So as we can see, Niall Minogue is easily pleased, Liam is more of a Kylie stan than he lets us believe, pippa is a stern lady not to be messed with and being a fan of Lily Allen has truely made Heezus totally tasteless.

I am disappointed with my own average, my problem is some albums i was not a major fan of,which lowered my scores but, it takes away from some of her amazing albums that i love.
