Though I've grown to like 'Sing', I'm still not particularly bothered about any of Ed Sheeran's album tracks, and feel they're very weak compared to his last.

The only song I really like of his recent material is 'All Of The Stars', and that was probably helped through that film

I think Ed is immeasurably better this time around than last.

'Thinking Out Loud' has become easily his best yet for me.

Definitely. I'm enjoying upbeat Ed a lot more than the slower, acoustic-y tracks from his first album (didn't really enjoy any of the singles that much aside from 'You Need Me...', which funnily enough I felt was his least appreciated).

I'm used to being in the minority on this forum :D

I felt the same when Coldplay came back with more up-beat material. It should have been 'Yellow' and 'In My Place' to reach No.1 for them, not 'Viva La Vida' and 'Paradise'.

I think I like Ed a lot more this time around because he's diversified himself a lot more this time and found something that really works for him, he was in danger of boxing himself into the 'dreary balladeer' category last time.
Ed Sheeran was shocking at ballads anyway because his voice is just too boring. The A Team being a million seller doesn't sit right with me at all. Can't say I'm impressed with his new stuff either though. Very overrated artist.

Pretty much the same for me. Of his slow songs, only Lego House I kind of liked since I at least liked the melody to it.

Very true. In the UK not so much since a lot of people were familiar with You Need Me his rap collabs, but in the US his only mainstream hits were The A Team, Lego House and that song he did with Taylor Swift, so really it was quite urgent he release something up-beat. If he left it too long people probably would've found it too weird, kind of like how we'd find it weird if Christina Perri or Birdy released something up-beat.

Woah, when did Zhu's "Faded" reclimb to #5? Should be on course for another week or two in the T10 then, streaming is still picking up.
