Starting us off is a track that has by far the lowest average for any song on the Now Rates that I have hosted from Peter Andre. 'Lonely' is taken from his album 'Time'. Conner Reeves second single is next. Also in this section we have Boyz II Men with their Top 10 hit and Wet Wet Wet's cover of the classic Beatles track 'Yesterday'. Jon Bon Jovi went solo and the third single to be taken from his debut solo album 'Destination Anywhere' was 'Janie, Don't Take Your Love To Town. Rounding off this section is dance act 'N-Trance' with their remix of Rod Stewarts classic 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy', which followed up their previous hits 'Set You Free' and 'Stayin' Alive'.

Starting off the Top 30 is Hanson with their follow up to the massive 'MmmmBop', reaching Number 4 in the charts and coming from their album 'Middle Of Nowhere'. DJ Quicksilver is next up with the follow up to his Number 4 hit 'Bellissima'.

 

The Lighthouse Family's excellent 'Raincloud' was a Number 6 hit for the duo and the first single from their album 'Postcards From Heaven'.

 

George Michael had a Number of big hits in the late 90's and 'You Have Been Loved' is just one of them. The haunting track managed to peak at Number 3 in the UK Charts and makes Number 27 on the Now 38 rate. Rounding off this group is Welsh rockers Ocean Colour Scene.

It was abit different to previous Faithless singles 'Insolmia' and 'Salva Mea', but did make the Top 10. Next up is Hot Chocolates 'You Sexy Thing', which was originally featured on Now 9 and was re-released after being used in the Full Monty film.

 

Next up at 23 is Boyzone with a track from the Mr Bean film, and also featured Rowan Atkinson in the video, which is reason enough to give 'Picture Of You' at least a 10 rate. :D

Kicking off the Top 20 is former Eternal member Louise. 'Arms Around The World' was her sixth Top 40 solo hit reaching Number 4 and coming from her album 'Woman In Me'. At 19 it's a euro dance hit from Bellini and at 18 it's Oasis, who seem to have sadly underperformed on this rate imo. :(

 

At 17 it's Ash, who have done pretty well in all fairness, with the title track from the film 'A Little Less Ordinary'.

 

Another track doing better than I anticipated is Moby's re-working of the classic Bond theme. Reaching Number 8 in te UK Top 40, it features samples of Pierce Brosnan saying "Bond, James Bond" and the conversation between Bond and Auric Goldfinger in Goldfinger: "Do you expect me to talk" / "No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die."

Lifed from the 'White On Blonde' album, Texas scored a massive Top 10 hit in 1997 with the anthem 'Black Eyed Boy'. This has to be one of my favourite tracks from Texas.

The winner of the Now 38 Rate is Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. Peaking at Number 2 in the UK, it has become one of the biggest and iconic songs of the 90's.

 

'tubthumping' is a tune, surprised it ended up winning though! I wasn't sure if it'd be to everyone else's taste. it's my second favourite out of the lot so that winning just about makes up for 'sunchyme' not winning.
