Duke is at 61 on streaming so I don't think #1 is for definite for him atm.

Looks like its going to be a very close race this week. I think The Script could nab the #1 in the end, with their live lounge performance. I'm pretty sure Duke Dumont will be #1 on today's mids.

I reckon Duke will sell loads over the weekend with the weekend affect, and maybe climb a bit then.

The weekend effect benefits older hits more so I'm not sure Duke would get much of a boost, 'Prayer In C' would probably be more likely to benefit.

A lot of the comments on youtube say that The Script's song sounds like Coldplay - Paradise but to me it sounds like Hall Of Fame 2.0 (minus Will.i.am), so I suppose we should have expected this to happen if it's using the winning formula of Paradise & Hall Of Fame.

 

When I first heard it I thought that it sounded like the type of song that would be #1 in the UK and also like the type of song that would get a massive boost from x-factor usage like if a contestant gets put through to the live shows or something.

Yeah me too, that & If You Could See Me Now all mixed in one.

I would actually argue Won't Look Back IS an old hit of sorts. It's been on airplay for over two months!

Is Amnesia by 5 Seconds of Summer not still rising - the impact date is next week - surely they have a way of bouncing the single higher?

And he's in the Live Lounge on Radio 1 on Friday though seeing as he's already fallen to 3 on iTunes suggests it may be too late, he should have released this sooner like the week before David Guetta

 

I've got a horrible feeling The Script will be number one on Sunday with their borefest of a track...Come on Duke!

I think they have an EP out on impact date so all the fans will probably go and rush and buy it to get it higher

:lol: this Duke Dumont decline. Hopefully it misses #1, so uninspired. The Script's song isn't a great deal more inspired but I'd take it over Duke.

The Script, like Maroon 5, are a band I used to love but find their recent stuff quite boring... I'd still like them to get number 1 over Duke Dumont since I find Won't Look Back quite boring, but I'm pretty sure it will lose out to Prayer In C this week unless it builds up quite a big lead!

I can't believe I have barely any internet access at a time something interesting happens in the chart. I don't think I've heard either song, but I hope the Script get to no.1 because it's a genuine surprise whereas Duke Dumont has been a contender for months now.

Won't Look Back is SO good. Superheroes is bland rubbish.

Superheroes is such a bland retread of everything else they've ever done while Won't Look Back is so close to Ride On Time that it's practically a parody rather than a tribute/point of inspiration.

If Prayer in C is #1 again I'll be soo happy! I doubt Duke Dumont is gonna be there now

Gutted that Sam Smith isn't looking to advance any further than #9 with "I'm Not the Only One", though it's done far better than I thought it would be and is helping the album sell.

 

Just read his recent interview with Digital Spy, and he said there are plans for only one more single from the album, and that's it's one that will surprise fans (i.e. doesn't sound like a single, unlike "Money on My Mind" and "Stay with Me") - anyone want to hazard a guess? They all sound like possibly single choices to me, I'm all for "Life Support" though.
