They're really skimping on the live show acts this year aren't they? Ed Sheeran and Taylor swift are big draws tbf and maybe Jessie J at a push as well but OneRepublic and John Legend?! I hope they've got Madonna up their sleeves or something for the finale :kink:

I guess they've both had recent million sellers at least. It's just annoying that these acts swan in and sing the 14th single from their respective album that nobody cares about. A OneRepublic hits medley would have been far more welcome!

That's what I mean, their songs are popular but they aren't exactly :P Especially when they sing a song that would peak at like #89 without X Factor.

I think John will perform You & I (Nobody In The World) tbh. Not that will have much effect and it is pretty much All of Me part 2 :P

YAY that Jake went although OTY really need to get their act together. They are one of my favourites yet that sing off was absolutely dire so they survived by luck.

When even Pharrell can only score a #79 smash WITH the X Factor exposure, you just know that John Legend's performance is going to be another No Doubt waiting to happen

omg Sarah Jane is a bit brash and confrontational, I'm guessing she won't be back next year...
I'm liking the guests this year, they're more well rounded. Plus not Taylor Swift aside not many of the superstars are releasing new material, and even then the likes of Madonna/GaGa/Britney are not having massive chart hits recently. Be good to see Justin Timberlake / Beyonce performing, but don't think that will happen this year.

I'd rather that than the pussyfooting around Konnie Huq provided us with :manson:

Imagine if John Legend sings his new single and it stays around as long as All of Me, the thought is making me shudder..
I think you lot are used to an act making their whole released based around their X factor performance, which is true for the Cheryl Cole's of this world now (and true of big stars when X factor was at it's peak viewers wise) but for some artist it is just another promo slot and treated as such and they are big enough to not have to rely on it selling their new album.

John Legend.

I don't want to hear All Of Me ever again :drama: I'll actually walk out the room if he performs that

The sing offs have been so bad because there is no backing tracks, backing singers or choirs to cover them in the chorus. Most songs the verses are the easier bit and most songs build to a big chorus. It kind of shows that it isn't the most talented bunch. The sing offs make the bands look the worst as I'm 99% sure OTY and SK are miming or barely audible over the backing track.

The only act I haven't like over the passed 3 weeks has been Ed Sheeran. He's so boring I nearly fall asleep when he's on.

But my faves have been Maroon 5 & OneRepublic

Just catching up and the awkward comment that Simon made to Andrea about "eating 5 doughnuts and feeling like he's eaten 6" is EXACTLY how I feel when hearing his voice. Except for me it's because it makes me sick. It's so awful and unlistenable to me, it sounds like he himself is throwing up.

And I am sorry, but Lola is so, so AVERAGE. I don't think there has ever been such an average singer before on this show. :\ Like she's good, but REALLY not that good and such a bland performer.

Jade Ellis?

The problem Lola has is that she suffers greatly with nerves, which hinders her vocals. If she could just get that confidence back then she'd show off her voice to the best of its ability. If she can't get over it and does more performances like 'When You Believe', then she won't last much longer in the competition imo. Every performance she's done so far has left her pretty exposed, so perhaps they should get her to perform an uptempo, something she could potentially have some fun with! Especially considering the songs that have been chosen for her make her seem so sombre - it's time to lighten up!

My main suspect for average singer (out of those who are taken very seriously) is Jay. They keep making him out to be some sort of supreme talent and I'm just not hearing that at all? His technique is awful. Only Cheryl seems to hear what I hear!

I've been thinking about which acts I'd most likely anticipate a release from once the competition is over, and it's 4 of them - Fleur, Lauren and to an extent Only The Young and Jack. Fleur is a natural performer... I think she's the closest the show has come to finding another Alexandra Burke (and I mean that in terms of commercial appeal - Alexandra had a far better voice). Lauren has a beautiful voice and I could see her blossom into being another Ella Henderson success story. OTY & Jack could both be special if handled correctly, but sadly at the moment they're foundering a bit on the show. Hopefully they pick it up next week!

I have my doubts that any of the others would appeal to me. Even though Andrea & Paul are strong vocally, I just couldn't see myself buying anything by them? Same goes for the overs boys (just not my cup of tea), Stereo Kicks (if Union J couldn't do well...) and Lola. The other two solo girls in the competition are head and shoulders above her in terms of confidence, performance, vocals etc.
