December 7, 201411 yr A big no to all the Christmas songs though. :/ Would Christmas by any chance be your least fave season then?
December 8, 201411 yr Not sure if this is the best thread for this post or not, but in case anybody is interested, these are the chart runs for Mariah Carey & The Pogues: Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/3e/All_I_Want_for_Christmas_Is_You_Mariah_Carey.png/220px-All_I_Want_for_Christmas_Is_You_Mariah_Carey.png [1st Entry: 04/12/1994] 05-02-02-02-08-28-50-77-100-97-91-106-119-59-80-76-104-177-Out 18wks [2nd Entry: 07/01/2007] 194-Out 1wk [3rd Entry: 04/11/2007] 163-105-78-46-23-08-04-06-20-Out 9wks [4th Entry: 02/11/2008] 151-104-59-45-37-17-12-17-25-Out 9wks [5th Entry: 08/11/2009] 171-113-77-51-29-19-21-18-Out 8wks [6th Entry: 07/11/2010] 186-132-96-48-22-23-25-31-Out 8wks [7th Entry: 06/11/2011] 181-145-100-64-27-12-11-17-115-Out 9wks [8th Entry: 11/11/2012] 156-88-56-30-20-21-20-55-Out 8wks [9th Entry: 10/11/2013] 187-98-68-47-14-12-13-30-Out 8wks [10th Entry: 16/11/2014] 146-68-52-17... 4wks+ = 82 weeks. It was still within the Top 200 by April 1995 in its initial run! That week at #59 was in March 1995. The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/56/FairytaleOfNewYork.jpg/220px-FairytaleOfNewYork.jpg 1987 Release (Top 75 only): [Entry: 29/11/1987] 40-19-08-02-02-04-19-39-68-Out 9wks 1991 Re-issue (Top 75 only): [Entry: 08/12/1991] 64-49-38-36-69-Out 5wks 2005 Re-release: [1st Entry: 25/12/2005] 03-05-12-41-63-111-137-157-169-198-221-Out 11wks / (Note: Chart was a Top 250 in 2005/6) [2nd Entry: 19/03/2006] 162-189-Out 2wks [3rd Entry: 08/10/2006] 197-199-183-197-172-148-120-84-46-23-10-06-13-94-Out 14wks [4th Entry: 11/11/2007] 186-131-81-33-12-08-04-09-107-Out 9wks [5th Entry: 16/11/2008] 136-62-44-19-13-12-19-91-Out 8wks [6th Entry: 15/11/2009] 160-85-58-31-18-18-12-169-Out 8wks [7th Entry: 07/11/2010] 197-91-75-51-27-26-19-17-122-Out 9wks [8th Entry: 13/11/2011] 166-112-47-23-15-13-13-68-Out 8wks [9th Entry: 11/11/2012] 134-91-53-27-15-18-12-32-Out 8wks [10th Entry: 17/11/2013] 113-85-53-16-15-14-24-Out 7wks [11th Entry: 23/11/2014] 80-67-18... 3wks+ = 87 weeks (2005 onwards).
December 8, 201411 yr Author Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You = 82 weeks. The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York = 87 weeks (2005 onwards). I see you deviously trying to make it look as if The Pogues are only 5 weeks ahead of her by counting Mariah's original run but not theirs. Very sneaky. Can't even rig it to make Mariah win by doing that though
December 8, 201411 yr Queen still fell down the album chart with the XF promo plus radio 2 A listing for the current track!
December 8, 201411 yr Would Christmas by any chance be your least fave season then? No, I love Christmas but without listening to the same songs all over again. They're not part of MY Christmas season, they just spoil it. :P
December 8, 201411 yr Ed Sheeran, could you perhaps be a little quieter next week on the chart? You've got Taylor giving you a blank face at you and Union J is complaining that you've got it all!
December 8, 201411 yr I see you deviously trying to make it look as if The Pogues are only 5 weeks ahead of her by counting Mariah's original run but not theirs. Very sneaky. Can't even rig it to make Mariah win by doing that though   I'm just going by what ChartsPlus states! It only lists it as having 86 weeks (i.e. the chart before this most recent one).
December 8, 201411 yr I didnt realise the chart was a top 250 in 2005/06! No, I'd never heard that before either  I'm not 100% sure which week in 2005 it changed to a Top 250, but I think it may have been one of the weeks in April 2005. I have this chart run for Girls Aloud's Love Machine which has 14 weeks worth of positions within the 201-250 area of the chart. [1st Entry: 19/09/04] 02-02-08-18-21-32-34-48-54-75-Out [2nd Entry: 23/01/05] 88-113-128-Out [3rd Entry: 20/02/05] 134-185-Out [4th Entry: 13/03/05] 147-180-188-Out [5th Entry: 17/04/05] 214-201-167-151-151-168-200-238-Out [6th Entry: 26/06/05] 242-218-Out [7th Entry: 17/07/05] 228-245-225-205-212-216-144-181-210-226-216-Out As for The Pogues, the yearly Chartwatch booklets (which can be found here: http://www.zobbel.de/ ) have these yearly chart runs for the 2005 release of 'Fairytale of New York' (I'll just post it up to 2008) 2005: 3 5 2006: 12 41 63 111 137 157 169 198 221 xx 162 189 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx 197 199 183 197 172 148 120 84 46 23 10 6 13 2007: 94 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx 186 131 81 33 12 8 4 9 2008: 107 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx 136 62 44 19 13 12 19 I only started getting ChartsPlus in 2008. In the Sunday 16th Nov '08 edition, The Pogues are listed as a re-entry at #136, with 37 weeks in the chart. Looking at the numbers above, 136 is the 37th number listed, and as you can see there is a position of #221 in the 2006 run which is one of those 37 weeks. I think the Top 250 stopped being published in March 2006.
December 8, 201411 yr The full chart was extended to a top 250 on 23/4/05 (when downloads were added and the old exclusion rules lifted), but became a top 200 again on 18/3/06 (when the 'deleted singles' rule was introduced - bizarrely the chart remained a top 200 when this rule was removed in January 2007).
December 9, 201411 yr The full chart was extended to a top 250 on 23/4/05 (when downloads were added and the old exclusion rules lifted), but became a top 200 again on 18/3/06 (when the 'deleted singles' rule was introduced - bizarrely the chart remained a top 200 when this rule was removed in January 2007). That explains why there was a year-end top 250 for 2005, whilst all the other years just had a top 200.
December 9, 201411 yr Ed Sheeran, could you perhaps be a little quieter next week on the chart? You've got Taylor giving you a blank face at you and Union J is complaining that you've got it all! Could you perhaps be a little quieter next week? And every week after that.
December 9, 201411 yr Ed Sheeran, could you perhaps be a little quieter next week on the chart? You've got Taylor giving you a blank face at you and Union J is complaining that you've got it all! Gonna be interesting to see how far Union J actually drop this week.
