December 9, 201411 yr Well I was referring to my previous post about UF being so low And I said that you wrote exactly the same things what people wrote just before you, so no extra information there :)

December 9, 201411 yr Uptown Funk is #28 on streaming Spotify  It'll most likely climb and it's #1 on iTunes so still unlikely Oliver will get #1. Will be #1 on sales or will Taylor get there first? I predict about #13 for Funk tomorrow, #8 for Thurs and #4 for Fri (presuming we get those) Obviously it's #1 on Sunday (unless Banned Aid sales are too much) Edited December 9, 201411 yr by SNOWING ADAM
December 9, 201411 yr I hope "Uptown Funk" get the #1, but I think Band Aid 30 will just about manage to hold it off, as I'm sure physicals will sell really well on Saturday.

December 9, 201411 yr The sales in the album chart between 3-6 are all really, really close -- if it hasn't been posted George Ezra's album is at 6 on sales of 17k+. The positions in this range could be interchangeable (and more than likely will be) as the week goes on. I'm thinking Take That will end up at 6 -- One Direction, Olly and George all have high profile promo this week. #oops Edited December 9, 201411 yr by MrIndependent
December 9, 201411 yr Band Aid selling 19,944 CD singles - as expected then, impressive but hardly going to get them back to #1. I suspect they may hang on to #2 but more likely they will slip to 3 behind Ed Sheeran. Ronson and Mars quite clearly going to smash the #1 with well over 100K. December 9, 201411 yr Nice to see Olly back in the top 5 of the albums! His show is on Friday, so I hope it has some impact for him on the Saturday/leading to a nice position/sales in Christmas week! :D Great to see CHVRCHES in the top 20 on the singles chart too! I doubt it'll stay top 40 for the rest of the week, but I really hope it can stay there! :drama:
December 9, 201411 yr I hope Up manages a decent top 40 performance. So much better than Tied Up :drama: And it has Demi in :P

Wonder if their cd sales will increase through the week as it's busy. Saturdays sales will be impressive surely. Was the cd on pre order?
December 9, 201411 yr Yes because the producing the song is such a small and insignificant role. Well in that case any producer can credit their name as an artist if they produce the song, which I don't think is right.
December 9, 201411 yr Well in that case any producer can credit their name as an artist if they produce the song, which I don't think is right. "Artist" doesn't literally translate as "singer", it doesn't have to be the vocalist who's the artist and that's never been what is "right". You may not be a fan of it but at the end of the day, it's not exactly unjustified. Any producer could credit their name if they wanted to, indeed, some just choose to and some choose not to. Either way, it doesn't bother me really.

But if you look at it like this, Calvin Harris is credited as having a number of #1 singles, I don't know how many, but there are songwriters who have written a lot more #1 singles, and yet they wouldn't be credited as having #1 singles as they are not the performer. That's the point I was making.

That's the point I was making. Well I can't recall any instances where someone's been credited just for songwriting so I'd say that's a different case really to producing it. Equally, producing is different to singing and I do get your point really, I just wouldn't say it's not "right" (all my opinion of course!)
