Biography

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler (born 18 December 1975), better known mononymously as Sia (/sɪə/or /ˈsiːə/), is an Australian downtempo, pop, and jazz singer and songwriter. In 2000, her single "Taken for Granted" was a top 10 hit in the United Kingdom. Her 2008 album Some People Have Real Problems peaked in the low 50s on the Billboard 200. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2009, she won the award for Best Music DVD and received six nominations at the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 and won Best Independent Release and Best Pop Release for We Are Born and Best Video for the song "Clap Your Hands".

 

As a writer, Furler has collaborated with many artists including Christina Aguilera, Eminem, David Guetta, Flo Rida, Afrojack, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Lea Michele, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis, Hilltop Hoods, Katy Perry, Kesha, Rita Ora, Britney Spears, Jessie J, Oh Land and Celine Dion. She co-wrote and featured on Billboard Hot 100 top ten hits, "Titanium" with David Guetta, with whom she also produced the single "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)", and "Wild Ones" with rapper Flo Rida. So pleased for Mark Ronson, he deserved a chart topper in 2007 based on how huge his two #2's were. And Bang Bang Bang was an absolute tune that really should have done WAY better.

Yep yep, a first ever number 1. Get used to hearing that! :lol:

Uptown Funk is just SO good, haven't been able to get behind too many mega hits but this is just amazing.

 

Slight off topic but Ronson didn't sound at all how I expected there :lol:

This song is very overrated but it's a much better number one over Thinking Out Loud.

And yay for the fast turnover at the top :wub:

One of my favourite ever artists, I'm so happy that this has been a huge success. The 'Record Collection' era should have done the same, especially with 'Bang Bang Bang' as the lead single! I would never have ever expected his return to be this big.

J. Cole has done very well to chart as high as that in December, especially as there were no singles before the album release. There's a chance it has higher sales this week than his last album did to enter at #7!
