Let's not forget 'Only One' was released on a Thursday, so comparisons between that's success and FFS success need to stop  FFS is having 6 full days of sales.

Also there's the minor difference that one of them is a Kanye single and the other is a Rihanna single (which may or may not also be a Kanye single). Not to mention that it's the first Rihanna single for some time. It'd be pretty astonishing if 'Only One' DIDN'T do significantly worse than 'FourFiveSeconds', even if it had the extra sales days.

For a minute there I thought you was swearing

This is also true. People just need to stop downplaying 'Only One''s success full stop tbh.

And just to add, Nos from 33 to 40 from last week have all dropped out of the 40.

And ouch for Enter Shikari's album from 6 down to 34, Belle & Sebastian are not that far behind.

YES for a decent number of new entries in this week's singles chart, it's about time.

good to see Fergie have a decent lead on Hozier, looks like she should keep the #2 then, although Hozier will climb to #2 next week considering next week seems to be another dead one (Mike Mago and Kodaline could go top 40 and that's about it)

It really did amazingly well by his (post-Taylorgate) standards, it managed to outchart 'Power' on just three days of sales and no streaming at all, then beat 'Black Skinhead' and 'H•A•M' as well in its first full week to be his highest charting lead single since 'Love Lockdown'. (#13 peak on sales alone is higher than 'All Of The Lights' as well, and not far behind 'Niggas In Paris').

the other is a Rihanna single

Actually, they are joint lead artists like Jessie J/Grande/Minaj on "Bang Bang"

How exactly does that dispute that it's a Rihanna single? I literally said right after that that it's possibly also a Kanye single.

Looks like the top two singles will be close this week.

This is as close as they're going to get. Unless something unexpected happens Mark is still going to win by a very wide margin.

I think that even though the artists were equally credited, 'Bang Bang' is still regarded mainly as a Jessie J single and I think that'll be similar with 'FourFiveSeconds' and Rihanna.

If FourFive Seconds can retain number #6 (or even go higher), it will be

Paul McCartney's highest-peaking single and first top 10 single (excluding He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, as he was part of the Justice Collective) since Ferry Cross The Mersey in 1989,

Kanye West's highest peaking single as a lead artist since Stronger in 2007, first top 10 single since Paris in 2012 and highest peaking single overall since E.T. (by Katy Perry) in 2011,

and Rihanna's highest peaking single (and first top 10 hit) since The Monster, and highest-peaking single (and first top 10 hit) as a lead artist since Stay.

The only nitpick over the Rihanna track is the way they credited Rihanna and Kanye West and Paul McCartney, wouldn't it be better to put a comma after Rihanna instead of adding and it looks rather odd

Yep Just like "Lady Marmalade" is credited a Christina song :)

That's a lot of copies for Tuesday for Mark :o I need to see what copies it sold on previous Tuesdays

Week 5: 33.4 K

Week 6: 34.0 K

Week 7: 30.3 K (missing streaming from Spotify UK)

Week 8: 27.7 K

Down slightly at the moment, but should just get a 100+K total - however almost a 1/4 of that will be thanks to the huge streaming of "Uptown Funk".

How is Fergie that close to Mark & Bruno... Pre-orders?

Yes, she will be massively front-loaded. Actually kinda expected her to be #1 in the first update as often these pre-order single inexplicably are.

It was also #64 on streaming last week, so it likely has good streaming aswell.
