No video, no streaming, not held back, it is actually refreshing to see a song just released in the UK and left to do what it does.

I agree but if she does OAOS would she not maybe release the video at the same time as the song goes to radio so it has a chance to be steady! :)

Steve Harley is down to 48, and Linkin Park & Jay Z are #58, not sure if the latter will break into the 40 come Sunday, it seems far off.

And John Legend is back in the 40 at #39 :drama:

It really is very poor that the lead single from Rihanna's new album is looking to do something around 40-45k in its first week (okay, 6 days but still). You would really be expecting 100k+, it just goes to show that people really aren't feeling it as a new move and it is a very silly choice of single to lead your 8th album off of.
"Uptown Funk" heading for 7 weeks at #1? If it was in the 80s, 90s and 00s, it would be understandable for a song to spend that long at #1
Mark Ronson sales 12k for yesterday, his streams are down to 20%, hmmm, could he just miss 100k

He just about doubled his Thursday total last week, so I expect he may just scrape 100K, something like 101,500.

It's even worse him being #1 when not even Rihanna can knock him off. If it was 2010 or 2011, she'd have knocked him off ages ago

That's quite a drop in sales from last week, so I imagine he probably got another week at #1 most likely, week after its up for grabs for a week Mark Ronson, DJ Fresh, Charli (???), unless Ellie drops her track a week early.

I think Ellie's team are waiting for Ronson and Mars to slow down a bit more first, it may be another fortnight before they are catchable.
I expect Fergie might be overtaken by Hozier by Sunday. Hopefully she can hold off Rihanna though.
To be honest I'd rather L.A. Love not match the same peak as BGDC. So I'm hoping whilst I don't like the song that Hozier can get to #2 as it sounds like the sort of song that's destined to be a #2 peaking hit.

No way, I think Ellie would easily be #1 if she released next week

Mark Ronson & Bruno are down 15k from last Thursday, so assume they're on for 100-105k for this week. An amazing achievement. It'll be interesting to see how long the song will remain in the top 10. I think it'll be the first song to have 7 weeks at #1 since Leona's "Bleeding Love" back in 2008 (over 6 years ago!).

Meghan managing to keep the gap between her and Ed the same as yesterday - I don't think she's a shoe-in for #1 just yet. I wouldn't be surprised if Ed closes the gap come Friday/Saturday.

*2007 It was number one from 3rd November 2007 until 22nd December 2007. So just over 7 years ago.

Oh dear, can't believe I got that wrong. Keep thinking 2008 as that was the year it took off everywhere else. Hopefully we'll be seeing Leona back on the charts in the next few months ^_^
