Certainly have recently. Some greatly sad losses this year in the sporting world.

John Edrich has died aged 83. He scored more than 100 centuries and played 77 test matches for England. He was given 7 years to live after being diagnosed with leukaemia in 2000 so he was as dogged in life as he was at the wicket.
Former Manchester United manager Tommy Docherty has died aged 92. They stuck with him after being relegated, I don't think that would happen today. He outlived most, if not all, the other football managers from the 1970s.

Former England and Manchester City midfielder Colin Bell has died at the age of 74 after a short illness.

Another one I wasn't aware of, British athlete and coach Lloyd Cowan passed away earlier this month. He was best known for coaching athlete Christine Ohuruogu.
