I don't think Lucy would have done better if she won, you can tell Opera is not really that accessible, people just connected more with Stevie's version. Go figure.

Anyhow, just grab my coat.

And what was wrong with Ben Haenow? Seriously wish that this forum wouldn't be so biased against solo male singers, particularly those from reality tv. Ben's single was alright and a nice departure from other things in the chart.

Huh what?

I mean, fair enough if you like the song and you might have a point about bias against reality TV singers, but at a time when about 20% of the chart always seems to be written by Ryan Tedder, covering a OneRepublic song is hardly going to be a "departure" from the rest of it. Especially not when Maroon 5 and the Script had songs charting as well.

Steve has quite a decent lead on Kworb!
Sensible that they did a proper winner's single at last - it might give Stevie half a chance of having further hits if this one can get some airplay now. I reckon he's the best winner so far at least.

It seem so, I don't think Jessie's streams will be enough to hold her up for a third week, 99k last week, could do 80 to 85k in her second week, her sales could end up even lower next week. Unless Stevie trails off rather quickly.

I think the others would have had half a chance of getting a hit if they had released proper singles - It was all a bit anti climax after the previous winners won as everyone who voted only had the option of downloading a live track I think?

Can Adam's original version please swap with that horrid Stevie please? Also, can that dire Nick Jonas track FOAD? His voice is just so painful. :drama:

Leanne Mitchell, the winner of the first series, was the only one to experience a winner's single in the same vein as this one. She was the only one with a song release for the week after the show had finished (then they released an album featuring the eight semi-finalists) but it was never really announced as a winner's single on the show and she never performed it after she had won. It did recieve (an extremely cheap!) video though. She was never really going to be a star though.

The other two series released all the live performances on iTunes each week so their winner singles were both songs they'd performed before and it was just released in the same vein as everyone else's singles.

Have to say I'm shocked to wake up and see the Voice single at #1. Like some others I'm guessing it will fall pretty fast though.

I'm shocked to see Stevie at number one...can't see it lasting long, will probably be out of the top 10 by Friday but at least The Voice could finally see a winner charting higher than number 39!

I wish that awful Nick Jonas track would switch with Pep & Rash, I really thought pre orders indicated a top 20 at least but to see it sitting at 39 is a real disappointment I just hope it can climb a bit through the day

Nick Jonas awful?...... Don't be silly! So happy to see it at #4 and rising! :cheer:

Yeah, it is strange to see Pep & Rash struggling after their pre-order was at #129 last night. I expected it to be closing in on the top 10 at this stage, not outside the top 30.

20% is hardly a huge number though. There is so much more dance/house tracks in the chart at the moment and I'll take Maroon 5, the Script, OneRepublic or Ben Haenow over efforts from Sam Smith/Ed Sheeran any day.

Regardless of my opinion, I just don't know why we get statements such as 'we don't need another Ben Haenow' when his track was pretty good and sung competently. You may not be a fan but he's hardly an affront to music.

I always thought it bizarre that the Voice winners didn't release/promote new material immediately after they've won and wait until the hype is completely non-existent to predictably flop, and they wonder why this makes the show look bad??

I haven't heard Stevie's song, though nice to see something throw a spanner in the works to what was gonna be yet another boring week.

I wish Pep & Rash were higher, disappointed with that. They may struggle to be top 30 next weekend with streaming hindering them :(

Glad for Nick Jonas, awesome track.

There seems to be an upcoming collab between Ben and The Script (Danny) Ben tweeted they were in the studio together yesterday.

 4. Nick Jonas - Jealous

 29. Pep & Rash - Rumors (Radio Edit)

 83. Bars and Melody - Stay Strong (Single Version)

 275. Nick Jonas - Jealous (feat. Tinashé) [Remix]

:up: 398. Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike & MOGUAI - Body Talk (Mammoth) [feat. Julian Perretta] {Main}

Pep & Rash going well! Not much worse than 'So Freakin' Tight' was around this same time so I hope it can still scrape into the Top 15 or so officially

Nick Jonas still in with a shout of #1, but if 'Lost Stars' continues building up a big lead it may be out of reach. Hope Jess can claw back quickly and regain the top spot!

Oh THANK GOD that Pep & Rash shit isn't climbing anywhere as fast as I was expecting it to! Hopefully a sign that this whole dance/commercial house sound is fading out! To make way for tropical house, hopefully!

Yes Nick! Please keep climbing and get number 1 on iTunes! :D
