May 26, 201510 yr Pleasing to see Will at number 1, even if it is on lower sales than he usually opens on. Then again, time of the year, streaming factored in etc etc. This year is basically going to be to albums what 2005 was to singles in terms of sales. And also I've only really seen him on The One Show and Paul O'Grady in the last week. Surprised even Alan Carr or Graham Norton haven't asked him on - correct me if I'm wrong? Still, as I said, good to see him leading already, I shall be getting the album tomorrow :) Is the fact that it was a bank holiday yesterday any sort of factor, either in a good or bad way. I hope Will gets no. 1.
May 26, 201510 yr What is the ASAP Rocky album that has shot to no.1 in the itunes chart? Is this a threat to Will?
May 26, 201510 yr I would of thought that Will would go at least silver (60k) with subsequent single releases and BBC Radio 2/Magic support + some extra TV promotion. We are heading towards summer now though where album sales can get really abysmal. Hope he remains at #1 come Sunday, would be a great achievement for him!
May 26, 201510 yr I'm surprised Will Young has made no1 album. I was expecting a top5 entry. There's been no hit single from it and long term it won't sell well. It will easily be his poorest selling studio album to date.

The first single release was such a mess - Released in a Friday, no initial promotion then random promo slots weeks after release - Am sure it could have gone Top 40 if handled properly.
May 26, 201510 yr Indeed - At least years ago entering guaranteed a Top 10 hit at home if nothing else but in recent years ESC acts are lucky to make the Top 75. Prima Donna say hi. They were the entry in 1980 and they didn't even make the Top 75 until after the contest. Even then they only peaked at 48. Admittedly they looked like a failed attempt to clone the Brotherhood of Man, but they did relatively well in the contest itself, coming third. On the positive side, one member's sister and another's cousin had Number One singles in the next couple of years.
May 26, 201510 yr What is the ASAP Rocky album that has shot to no.1 in the itunes chart? Is this a threat to Will? Just came in here about this... He has released his album a week early! It has huge hype and is currently #1 on iTunes in all the big markets. I guess it could be a threat to Will, but i assume it's only available to download due to the early release and won't be stocked in shops yet. Though that didn't stop Drake and Kendrick Lamar from getting huge sales so who knows? :o

May 26, 201510 yr Smart move by ASAP Rocky pushing forward his album by a week on what is a quiet week for major releases, he wouldn't have had any chance of being number one a week Sunday
May 26, 201510 yr Do we think Mans will hang on to top 10 or is top 20 the best we can hope for? Any chance Loic will get top 40? Edited May 26, 201510 yr by eurovision4ever
May 26, 201510 yr Do we think Mans will hang on to top 10 or is top 20 the best we can hope for? Any chance Loic will get top 40? I think he'll end up somewhere in the top 15, maybe top 10 but I wouldn't put my hopes up. Loic will definitely miss the top 40 as it's already down to #29 on iTunes and streaming will cost it 20+ places
May 26, 201510 yr Do we think Mans will hang on to top 10 or is top 20 the best we can hope for? Any chance Loic will get top 40? Loic is at #21 in today's update. Might just miss out on the top 40. Other Eurovision entries in top 100 according to Official Charts UK: Aminata - Love Injected at #51 Guy Sebastian - Tonight Again at #55 Nadav Guedj - Golden Boy at #60 Elina Born - Goodbye To Yesterday at #71 Il Volo - Grand Amore at #79 Bojana Stamenov - Beuaty Never Lies at #84 Nina Sublatti - Warrior at #87 That makes 11 currently top 100. Hopefully at least 5/6 make it officially. http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/e...e-top-10__9448/ Edited May 26, 201510 yr by Lukuzz
May 26, 201510 yr Ooh a new Will Young album bringing out the inexplicably large BJ Will stanbase. :hi: Can't wait for the next Joe McElderry album! It will be slightly hilarious if A$AP Rocky ends up beating Will Young to #1. Don't think it'll happen though, he'd need similar sales to Kendrick and he just doesn't have near the same level of hype.
May 26, 201510 yr I'm upping my predictions for Mans since he is holding up on iTunes and starting well on Spotify. He is likely to end up in Top 20, I think. Top 15 if his Spotify numbers improve dramatically. Loic might just scrape Top 40. Animata, Guy and maybe Nadav are likely to end at Top 100 while the rest are likely to not make it. May 26, 201510 yr Måns is going to fall out of iTunes top-10 by Thursday though. From #3 in first midweeks to top-15-20 in the end is quite harsh but what can you do these days? Loic is a dead cert for top-100 now which is pleasing. Tbh at least 3-4 songs from this Eurovision could be very big hits if promoted properly (Måns, Loic, Polina and Aminata at very least), Eurovision vastly improved in quality and trendiness. I hope the contest keeps up with this and that eventually translates into long-term sales for the best songs.

It won't happen in the UK while radio/TV in this country continue to pretend that Eurovision songs don't exist. It's still astonishing to look back and think that Euphoria sold over 60k in its peak week and managed 12 weeks top 75! Heroes will probably go 13-OUT :(
May 26, 201510 yr Hoping Will to get to number one, though terrible promotion of his stuff, only time I have heard Love Revolution on the radio is Radio Debenhams :P

May 27, 201510 yr From Popjustice Will The Vaccines or Taylor catch up? There's a high possibility, unless Will isn't too front-loaded. I can see the Vaccines being a consistent seller as they're on lots of festival bills, including Glastonbury.
