Simon Cowell will no doubt be smiling smugly at how Leona's comeback is performing :(
He won't. He still appreciates and really gets on with Leona.

Radio 2 B list isn't anything to brag about, their playlists kick in on Saturdays and they've sitll not played her. Will probably chart at 41, ha. Even if it does scrape the top 40, it won't be good enough for any other radio stations to take notice, so it doesn't really matter either way.
oh yes I remember on saturday he was #38..I thought he would miss the top 40, but he made it with 12k...I m wondering how much he did with streaming

I doubt streaming accounted for much of his total at all! Although he seemed to be less affected by streaming than Conor Maynard, who made #25 on sales compared to Luke's #27 (I think) and ended up lower officially :o

I don't get the comments that #21 is better than what you expected for Leona? 21 is rather horrific even with limited airplay. Sales are at an all time low and she's got a dedicated fan base, look at 'What Are You Waiting For' no airplay and peaked at 14, this is Leona's comeback single after almost two years? It should be doing much better than peaking at 21 on iTunes and missing the top 40.

I can safely say that I see no coming back for both her and Rixton.

Rixton may not have much radio airplay but they have been all over music tv channels. 4 music had them featuring in practically every break with this song when running a competition not long ago and as has been said, they have had much longer to build up pre-orders and support for the song.

Don't get me wrong, I know 21 is not brilliant and is certainly not going to do her career any favours having her 'big comeback' scrape top 40 if it manages to, but based off how pre-orders have been for the last few weeks and with it getting brought forward 3 weeks earlier than planned it is indeed better than what I expected at this point for this song (still not what I hoped for but oh well).

Pretty pleased with how Leona's doing considering pre-orders don't count towards the iTunes chart anymore and they brought the release date forward not allowing the song to build in airplay. Hopefully Leona won't fall off too much when she does start to fall. Hoping the extra sales of the remixes will help and that she'll be able to do decently on streaming ("Fire Under My Feet" is currently in two popular spotify playlists so I hope that'll help!).

Hoping airplay will build more over the next few weeks and the song will take off. She has another performance on the John Bishop show which will be aired either next week or the week after and more radio promotion coming up.

What Are You Waiting For had a much longer build up and had pre-order sales lumped onto its original iTunes position though which helped. I mean, it's still pretty awful for Leona but those factors will have helped, she didn't get thrown in at #78 off the back of pre-existing pre-orders, she had to climb her way up from about #1200.

Yeah but 'What Are You Waiting For' will have bigger opening sales. It even was #10 in the mids. WHEN CAN LEONA?

Sales aren't at an all time low  declining from the recent highs of 2010-11, but not an all time low. 2005-7 were awful, this is quite healthy up to that.

bitch let me be shady.

In all seriousness, sales are awful right now.

When will The Sats have a GLOBAL number 1 & a 3mil (UK ALONE) selling album?

I just found out he was 16 on tuesday midweeks, how can if on itunes he peaked at 22

That's the boost pre-orders gave it! It fell to about #27 on Wednesday's update oops :drama:

Pre-orders plus multiple versions. I think Leona will top 20 in the first set of mids too.

Without turning this into a typical Saturdays vs Leona stan war () I don't really think the two situations can be compared. WAYWF was released only a year after they achieved their first number one single. Up until the WAYWF release, they were playlisted by both R1 and Capital with each of their releases. I can't even remember if Capital playlisted the song - I know Radio 1 didn't though. They were releasing WAYWF off the back of many successful radio hits. Bar 'One More Sleep', Leona hasn't had a radio hit since 2009. A lot of the public didn't even know about her third album. There's always a lot of tweets along the lines of "whatever happened to Leona Lewis". Her songs aren't getting the recognition so it is to be expected that the song wasn't going to do as well as her past singles. I think reaching #21 on iTunes with very little radio play, minimal tv play and one promo appearance is a lot better than most artists could manage who haven't had a high-selling hit for 6/7 years.

28. Ariana Grande - One Last Time

<3 Still climbing (it fell to about #33/#34 over the weekend) so I'm glad to see it stabilise and manage to get back to where it was prior. Hopefully a non-mover at worst this week

One More Sleep went to #34 in its first week, from fan buys, and more airplay than this is getting, I can see this selling similarly on the sales chart, but doing Conor Maynard officially. Sadly she doesn't have a ridiculously over the top X Factor to push it into the top 5 next week :kink:

Itunes Fun Fact

2012 Trouble was 26 before X factor

2013 One more sleep was 26 before X factor (second week released)

2015 FUMF was 26 before Palladium

At least Leona still has a small but consistent fanbase

Btw I expected for Leona to do as she is doing considering minimal radio support, a small tv appearance, and the release push forward three weeks before the impact date.but release AO is common with Island artists, look at Florence 3 singles before releasing the album neither one of them make the top 20..and her album sold 70k..Will Young did not even make the top 100 with the single but his album got 1 (with only 21k though)..I just hope leona release as her seconde single Glassheart and not lovebird :D

Will's single was available to download the same day it premiered on radio 2 though on the 27th march, so it was selling in trickles all the time it was gaining more airplay, it only sold 4,139 the impact week he went to #1 with his album, but overall Love Revolution had sold 16,800.

I'm sure Leona can make the chart this sunday if her sales keep buoyant, but I must admit, I'm not a fan of this higgledy piggledy song release stratedgy that Island have done with Florence,Brandon and Will.

Good to see 'Worth It' and 'Poison' climbing!

Glad 'Shine' is getting some sort of video boost there. Under no illusions this'll be a big hit, I see it maybe having similar success to "Glow" (if we were to say King was the "Ghost" of the era)
