I thought 'Let It Go' would become a big hit eventually but was beginning to think he was leaving it a bit too late for it to make a real impact, appears not though!

I wonder how well the new Years & Years song will do. I think King reached the iTunes Top 40 before it was released.

I feel like #3 but maybe a tad lower. I can't it missing the top 5 but don't have much faith beyond that basically. I'm very happy for it to chart there though, it was far from the most certain hit of the year.

88. Rita Ora - Poison (Pre-Order)

Really hoping this does well.... In love with it now :cheer:

Great to see Rita climbing rapidly pretty early in the week! Now PLEASE secure that 5th UK number 1, so that next time you release a single, you can beat Cheryl! *.*

I think Y&Y will be fine. Not sure they will overcome Lost Frequencies (if the latter are going to build up steam like Omi), and David Zowie seems to be doing much better on pre-orders, so numbers 1 and 2 should be them. Y&Y can battle for #3 and fight for it with Tinie and 5th Harmony (and maybe Walk the Moon or James Bay, or someone completely different with OA/OS?). So yeah, a very good selling top-5 seems very certain, with a shot to #3.

That said, 5th of July release is in that 5-days week without the weekend. So the streaming effect will be much lower, and pre-orders will play a much bigger role too. So they could overcome Lost Frequencies, and David Zowie too if they have a good promo lined up - like Tinie has done this week to Lost Frequencies.. So I wouldn't rule out Y&Y as a #1 contender just yet too.

Eminem "Phenomenal" is released on 28th June, according to iTunes)!

I was thinking 'Shine' would be the Glow/Cheating of the era. Wouldn't be surprised if that still ends up being the case, though it looks like it could amount to more which is great!
I see the Chemical Brothers - Go at #90. C-list Radio 1 since next week. Maybe a future top-40 at very least?

I think 'Shine' will go top 5 but I can't see it doing much better than, to give a recent example, Clean Bandit's 'Stronger'.

That week will definitely be interesting though, as there'll only be 5 days of sales plus 3 songs that seem likely to go top 5 ('House Every Weekend', 'Worth It' and 'Shine'). Out of those I think 'Worth It' has the best chance of #1, although HEW is getting better pre-orders WI has more commercial appeal and Capital FM airplay.

iLL Blu should have been #1 that week. Astounded it hasn't got radio support or anything. Even the intrigue around James Morrison's return hasn't helped it too much. :(

A real grower, this could have taken off and been massive. Shame.

120. Kelly Clarkson - Invincible

It's randomly appeared from out of nowhere after struggling to break the top 500 on iTunes.

I think that even if 'Shine' was to do a 'Stronger' (speaking of which, didn't Olly sing the original of that?), that would still be an achievement for a band who are still building up their fanbase. However, I do think 'Shine' will do better than that given it has Radio 1, Radio 2, Kiss and Capital support, probably Heart too once it charts.
I like Shine but it's a bit too subtle to be a big hit. They should have launched the album after King.

I disagree, it's too risky releasing a debut album after one big hit - look at Walk the Moon's album or how Hozier initially performed before the January sales/'Someone New'.

With 'Shine' and the instant grats, their album is shaping up to be an easy #1 and I don't think that'd happen if they released right after 'King'.

B-list rotation is clearly helping it out it would seem :o If only they made it TOTD. :(

GRAB THAT TOP 200 SMASH KELLY :cheer: (I am still confident that releasing the John Legend collab and her era will be saved with an XF performance of it!)

'Poison' & 'Freak of the Week' to smash next week! <3

What's most important for them is that they can keep the album selling after its release with subsequent singles, which I'm sure they can.

Loosely connected but I saw a remix of it uploaded somewhere.

people literally c+p'ing my pre-order update list and updating it themselves

Anyway, it's lovely to see Kelly climbing.
