Amazing for Birdy! Definitely the more deserving track over Skinny Love to be a top ten.

I've still yet to see this advert though.

LOVING Wings right now, the advert has really given this a new lease of life for me, I underrated it so much back in 2013!

This was/is an ok/decent song, but not worthy of a revival. I'd rather a 3rd round of 'Skinny Love'.

(granted I haven't heard the acoustic version)

Birdy getting that long overdue top 10 smash then! guess this makes up for Skinny Love's ridiculously low peak for a song as big-selling as it was

Incredible result for 'Wings'!

This pretty much annihilates her covers, her gentle vocals work really well on such a haunting effort.

They couldn't do that after all the ~hype~

I expect the chart to be re-run and quietly swept under the carper (unless it affects the number 1) and that this is the reason Greg isn't saying 'down 6 places' etc.

I don't think that's the case, I don't even think he's aware of this probable missing data gate.

yeah that would make sense ~ but what an almighty cock-up for the first friday chart show... :nocheer:

Brilliant for Birdy, massively outpeaking Skinny Love now anyway which is good! (& People Help The People *shudders*), wonder if this could become the new Make You Feel My Love/A Thousand Years and getting a massive re-revival? especially with XF coming up.

Poison has grown loads this week!

Not her best but definitely a lot better than I originally gave it credit for.

Albums

#1 Ed - X

Last week’s chart-topper, Lionel Richie & The Commodores’ The Definitive Collection, is at 3, James Bay’s Chaos and the Calm slips a place to 4 and Taylor Swift’s 1989 completes the Top 5.

speaking of People Help The People, the guy who originally sang it will be having the last laugh as he's the vocalist on Avicii's soon-to-be megasmash 'Waiting For Love' :cheer:

Agreed! I hope this gives her some momentum for more chart success with whatever she releases next.

Biography

Walk the Moon (often stylized as WALK THE MOON) is an American Indie rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lead singer Nicholas Petricca started the band in 2008 and went through several member changes before finally coming together with current members Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman in 2010. The band derives their name from the song "Walking on the Moon" by The Police. The group independently released their debut album, I Want! I Want!, in November 2010, receiving airplay for the track "Anna Sun" on multiple Alternative radio stations. In February 2011, Walk the Moon signed with Mick Management. They signed to RCA Records and released their first major label album, their second overall, the self-titled Walk the Moon, in June 2012. It is composed of many of their original tracks from I Want! I Want! as well as new tracks that were written specifically for the album and were meant to reflect the kind of energy the band produced in their live shows. In December 2014, the band released their second major-label studio album, Talking Is Hard. This album included their biggest hit to date, "Shut Up and Dance," which has so far charted at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 1 on Billboard's Rock Songs chart and Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.

SPIN Magazine has described them as a "poppy, art-rock quartet". They were also deemed a Nylon Magazine Band Crush for their "swirly pop beats, infectious guitar riffs, and loud, sing-a-long choruses." - Wikipedia
