Next out is the ghostly, eery 'Bloody Mary'. When the album first leaked there was a huge buzz about this - it was a look at a different sort of Halloween Gaga that Monsters would die for. Described as a "spooky rave ballad" from the perspective of Mary Magdalene it's about as fantastically pretentious as Gaga can get but it's all the more brilliant for that reason. The chilling "gaga" chants are the highlights of the song and it was also performed crazily at the Born This Way Ball as Gaga seemingly gravitated around the performance space on a mechanical track that moved her around the audience. Lyrically, it's an album high point but musically it seems we're not all totally behind it. Still, haunting stuff ~
