I'm quite relieved (for my wallet) that there's pretty much nothing of interest for me this year. At a push maybe the Taylor Swift vinyl, but I'm not desperate to get it (which is just as well because it'll probably be carnage trying to get a copy lol).

I pre-Ordered Britney’s GH last week. Im not massively into her albums but the GH is chock full of hits and I absolutely played the hell out of that as a kid so im excited for that.

 

 

But the biggest one for me is that I went to check the release date for Fixin To Thrill and Bodyparts and there at the top of the Dragonette store was a SIGNED copy of Royal Blues. I about f***in DIED. I’ve been stalking it on Discogs since I got into vinyl and it’s always been like around the 100€ including postage at the absolute cheapest for a used copy and it’s been a little out of my budget. I got it for f***ing 18€ (ex postage) SIGNED. Honestly so buzzing. I cannot wait to go collect it from Customs jail. (Pls hurry up DHL/Zollamt and free it from IPZ Frankfurt already)

FINALLY got Agnes' Magic Still Exists vinyl today!

 

I was praying it wouldn't sell out since Bengans restocked it late last year, but couldn't justify the £20 postage unless there was another item I wanted too. That arrived in the form of the Melodifestivalen 2023 CD, and both arrived today <3

I also splashed out on a copy of Girls Aloud - Long Hot Summer 12" vinyl. I did already have a copy of it (which I bought when it was released in 2005) but the sleeve got badly damaged in 2013*. My original copy looks horrible and it's bothered me for so long (some of friends know all too well x). However the vinyl is quite rare, so whenever copies popped up on eBay, they'd go for a lot of money, and I could never bring myself to spend so much. Until this week! :lol: I'm very happy with it, it looks very close to appearing like it's brand new ♥

 

* As did three Girls Aloud promo singles I have [No Good Advice, Life Got Cold and Jump] but I'm less fussed about those... which is just as well, because they're all expensive these days!

Mine arrived today, the front cover is like an upscaled scan of the CD cover, so has come out looking a bit amateur and blocky at record sleeve size.

 

Not as great looking as the other stuff I have from Music On Vinyl. I'll give it a spin later and see what it sounds like.

Hmmmm. Mine hasn’t actually shipped yet so I’m not sure if HHV actually have it yet or not. If it’s not moved by thurs I might pay them a visit in person as it’s somewhere in Kreuzberg I think.

 

 

Shame it’s not been properly designed for the increased size. I know this is probably a low budget affair but surely a few quid on a proper digital artist would have been in the budget

Yeah, and apparently (according to people on the PJ forum) a higher res version of the original image is out there. I get that it's a deliberately tacky cover, with the white outlines around the girls, so hardly expected a masterpiece but you can see the pixels in their faces :lol:

I never got around to hearing the Lauv album, but I liked singles I heard from it, and I've enjoyed his previous eras. Under £12 feels like a good excuse to finally hear it!

 

I had been on the fence about purchasing Sawayama for ages because it was usually £30+ on Amazon or HMV. £17.49 sealed the deal for me though!

 

I already have a different copy of Hold the Girl which has different artwork and is a blue vinyl. So I didn't particularly need a second copy, but I thought it would be nice to have a copy of it with the standard artwork anyway.

Gonna be a while before I see this mess for myself. My German stockist cancelled my order so I’ve had to get it from Assai in the UK instead.

 

I thoroughly recommend Assai for folks in the UK. They often have exclusive colours or pressings and have a huge catalogue. Plus their customer service is top notch
