Posted November 20, 20159 yr Just seen this on ATRL forum, Crazy sales! HDD: 2M+ a lock, Adele sales unlike anything we've ever seen Regarding the early first-day response to the new Adele album, 25, the term “feeding frenzy” doesn’t sufficiently describe what's happening here in the States—and presumably around the world. Early sales are unlike anything we've seen in the modern era. At this point, 2m+ is a lock. Can it break the 2.4m first week record? Can it hit 3m? Stay tuned. http://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298636
November 20, 20159 yr I think it'll break the first week sales record with SPS, but probably not pure sales. We'll see.
November 21, 20159 yr Well, she sold 900,000 on iTunes yesterday. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/...illboard-charts
November 21, 20159 yr Author Wow, 900k sales first day just off ITUNES! That is crazy, She will probably hit 3 million sales first week, I think she will easily be beating the 2.4 million record by NSYNC now.
November 21, 20159 yr As always, Adele smashes through even her highest predictions - she was predicted to shift 1 million downloads first week IIRC, and she's gone and done pretty much that in one DAY. *NSYNC's record is pretty much done for if this is accurate, it's mainly a question now of just how much she can beat it by.
November 21, 20159 yr Adele just continues to SMASH records left, right, and centre. So privileged to see this happening, especially from a British female singer.
November 21, 20159 yr Didn't think I could be anymore awestruck by how this era has played out for her, I was wrong. And she has SNL tonight too, wonder if that'll boost her even further.
November 22, 20159 yr Author ADELE: BYE BYE BYE, RECORD BOOKS Adele is now on track not just to break the existing record for first-week sales (NSYNC's 2.3m), but to smash it to dust. The current projection for the debut of her new XL/Columbia set, 25, is 2.5-2.9m. Could even this astronomical number be a conservative estimate? Will last night’s SNL performance push her still further into the stratosphere? How huge is huge? http://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298650
November 22, 20159 yr Both Target stores near me today had sold out of their special editions and only had a handful of the standard one on display - Definately a 3 million week for Adele in the U.S. I think if she can shift 900,000 downloads on 1 platform alone in a day! :cheer:
November 22, 20159 yr Also Target have 10% off CDs this week in stores and online which started today - Also free shipping if ordering online so that is only going to further help Adele's first week sales added to the fact everyone will be out in force for Black Friday
November 24, 20159 yr Author 25 has broke this record in 3 days she has sold 2.433 million following report is from the Billboard. '25' has already sold at least 2.433 million in slightly more than three days. It’s confirmed. Adele’s 25 has broken the single-week U.S. album sales record, according to Nielsen Music. After processing the first sales reports from Monday, Nov. 23, the album has already sold at least 2,433,000 in pure album sales in slightly more than three days. That sum beats the single-week record for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991, set by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, when it debuted with 2,416,000 in the week ending March 26, 2000. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/...ngle-week-nsync
November 24, 20159 yr Incredible! To not only beat the record held for 15 years but to do so in just three days is stupendous. I guess the 'Be Here Now' of the U.S. - except this STILL has the rest of the tracking week to go!
November 24, 20159 yr It's fun but weird to think we're looking at the largest one week album sales we'll ever see, in both the UK and the US. This record will never come close to being broken.
November 25, 20159 yr INSANE. I get it, but still it's unbelievable almost. There has been no hysteria around a record of any description since Candle In The Wind.
