December 13, 20159 yr You're welcome to dislike Fleur, of course, but miming isn't really an opinion, she either did and she didn't, and I don't know why you're so sure she was miming when, as Davidson said, they only had used a pre-recorded backing track over the chorus sections which obviously needed that extra oomph. This is very common from what I've noticed amongst popstars. It certainly wasn't full on Cheryl-style miming.
December 13, 20159 yr The ratings yesterday were a disaster, 5.9m ouch. That is down 2.4m on last year. When you look at the ratings last year was only off the year before by 0.1m, they actually arrested the decline, makes you wonder why they changed it up so much again this year? It is never going to suddenly zoom back up in ratings but to halt the decline was surely the best they could have hoped for and now it seems in terminal decline.

I was just being polite in saying so. To me it was clear and I have no doubt she was others don't agree and that's fine. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with me. It just feel like because certain artists are liked around here that people who don't agree with the majority get belittled (like the c**t and muppet comments for example aimed at Sammy)
December 13, 20159 yr Next year is almost certain to be the last series then. I wonder how ITV will fare with The Voice/if it'll take X Factor's slot in 2017?

Let's not jump to conclusions before we see the final BARB figures. Overnight ratings are becoming increasingly irrelevant. X Factor tends to get a boost from people watching on timeshift and catch-up. Its ratings are still good even if they are falling tbf. Many of us think she gave a great performance with Little Mix and it's fine if you disagree but it's almost quite predictable now and some of the reasoning feels plucked out of thin air. It's like she can't do right for doing wrong. Again, I don't want to cause offence, I just thought you were due a reasoned explanation as to why people were getting worked up!

And I appreciate the reasoned response :) I just feel like if you're (not you personally, just general) going to write off a negative opinion as invalid because someone is not a fan of said artist, it can seem reasonable also to invalidate a defence of that because someone is a fan and they can do no wrong in their eyes. For example I see Sammy's posts as quite refereshing because they don't follow the "she is the greatest thing since sliced bread" theme that is often visible around here. Don't get me wrong its XF and I really don;t take it so seriously anymore. I just think the balance can be a little unfair. Peace and all that :) Re the ratings I'm not so surprised. XF has been a TV juggernaut and I have lost interest over the years and come back to it because I guess there is something about it that s addictive viewing even if you moan about it! But i do think it has run its course now. I do wonder with Adele performing on the show she may even beat the winners single to #!! (If she sings Hello of course)

Catch up means nothing though, advertisers pay for adverts on live ratings as they know people can fast forward the ads on catch up etc. As for the second thing, it is also tedious and and predictable to read the 'Fleur slayed it' etc time and again by the same people also but hey we don't go round telling you you shouldn't say that, we just post our opinions on her.
December 13, 20159 yr 1S4rDdG3HwQ what even was that ben. To be fair to Ben, he does have a fab voice, but it's really not suited to that kind of song  same thing with I Will Always Love You from last year, it was horrific. His voice is better suited to the kinds of songs on his album, but he did an alright job there. Fleur/LM were obviously singing live but with a backing track that boosted their performance because they were moving about alot, loads of acts do it. Some people in this thrad have really shown themselves up with childish name calling, baiting and general biased natures and it was a real chore to read through :drama: even moreso than Rod bloody Stewart.
December 13, 20159 yr Reading through this thread was definitely a moment to say the least! So many gassed people on here  I didn't see the show yesterday but watching it back now I like how they tried to jump on the Joshua vs Whyte boxing hype at the beginning of the show
December 13, 20159 yr Let's see if tonights X Factor has the Adele effect. A 30 minute interview with her was the best watched tv show on Dutch tv last night even beating a game show who never get's beaten in the ratings.
December 13, 20159 yr I missed the finale last night so I'm catching up on Youtube ! The Spice Up Your Life / Boom Boom Boom mash up gave me LIFE :cheer: These boys are magical, so much good energy and fun ! I never rooted for a "novelty" act before but they are much more than that and genuinely amazing at what they do. :wub:Could you "not normally supporting the novelty acts" be down to the fact that your darling Cheryl has never had a novelty act before now? :o or is it just coincidence? I can't see you liking them if any of the other judges had them for example. You probs have gone so far to genuinely liking RNB now but this is something that's always been a bit "hmmm  " for me during the lives.

You could have a point if I hadn't actually criticized Cheryl for putting them through to the live shows. But yes in the long run I guess it helped that they are in Cheryl's category since I always pay more attention to her acts than others. I see nothing wrong with that though. At the end of the day, I'm only showing support for an act I truly enjoy and I don't even vote since I'm not in the UK anyway. Edited December 13, 20159 yr by Hayzayy
December 13, 20159 yr You could have a point if I hadn't actually criticized Cheryl for putting them through to the live shows.Which makes my point even more valid? Like I said, any of the 3 other judges put them through and every week we'd have been seeing you moan about them as they got further into the contest and staying over (what would have been) Cheryl's acts.
December 13, 20159 yr Which makes my point even more valid? Like I said, any of the 3 other judges put them through and every week we'd have been seeing you moan about them as they got further into the contest and staying over (what would have been) Cheryl's acts. That is so untrue though, I was still rooting for Lauren last week, I was praising her vocals and was gutted she got evicted. And as I said, at the end of the day, what is your problem with the fact that Cheryl may have influenced my love for RNB? People are wasting way too much time on negativity when it could be a very friendly and fun thread.
December 13, 20159 yr Author LMAO crying at that note of Ben's!!! I know I hate him and you'll say I'm biased but that really was a horrendous performance. Leona deserved better too, and that's not a dig at Ben being her duet partner, I just mean that she performed Run. I don't know why they didn't just have Ben perform Sliding Doors alone and then Leona could sing something from I Am alone. Must be a kick in the face for her fans, she has a new album that's bombed and she gets this promo and it's for a 7 year old song. I mean it's one of my favourite songs ever but you can really tell they blew the budget on Adele and Coldplay so they just dragged back some old alumni and Rod Stewart. Plus Sax and Black Magic was brilliant, they're two of my absolute favourite songs of the past few years, but still it was a bit disappointing that they dragged back two alumni who've already performed - Fleur performed that exact song even! Oh well, I did really enjoy that performance, slay queen etc. As for the actual show, Louisa of course blew everyone away! I wish the duet wasn't such a cliched song choice but it was bloody incredible, I'm impressed at Rita actually. I thought Louisa would trounce and embarrass her vocally and the duet as a whole would suffer but it was so good! Not fussed Che came 3rd, I of course prefer him to Reggie & Bollie but I found his performances so boring - especially the duet... Meh. Louisa simply has to win and logically I can't see otherwise but I still have a niggling feeling there could be an upset, because I'm that pessimistic.
December 13, 20159 yr Stop trying to make Ben Haenow happen, X Factor :( His performance was dreadful. So many cringeworthy moments last night! Tonights should be decent with Coldplay and Adele at least.
December 13, 20159 yr Tonight's show will probably be more cringe, the thought of Reggie and Bollie having to follow an Adele performance or her show them up by performing after them will make for an incredibly odd feeling. They have Adele, Coldplay and one 1D who are all serious artists (1D have tried to be the last couple of albums any way) with Reggie and Bollie in between saying Mash it up or some rubbish like that.
December 13, 20159 yr Does it really matter who wins. We all know who'll get the support from Cowell.
