Sorry forgot to post this last week but on Sunday 20th December is BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2015 and most of the talk has been about Tyson Fury for these comments which you can see on this article from:

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/dec/...e-sporting-star

Should he allowed on the list?

Anyway there are the 12 nominees:

Lizzie Armitstead- Cycling

Lucy Bronze- Football

Jessica Ennis-Hill- Athletics

Mo Farah- Athletics

Chris Froome- Cycling

Tyson Fury- Boxing

Lewis Hamilton- F1

Andy Murray- Tennis

Adam Peaty- Swimming

Greg Rutherford- Athletics

Kevin Sinfield- Rugby League

Max Whitlock- Gymnastics

Who do you think will win BBC Sports Personality of the Year?

And also what have been your sporting highlights of 2015?

Of course, I know he's said some controversial comments but this should be an award to celebrate sporting achievements, isolated from other incidents.

In that same vein Luis Suarez should never win a footballing award due to his biting incidents...

I think it's the fact it's called Sports PERSONALITY. If it was just "Sports Person of the Year" then fair enough, but "personality" to make implies that it is more that just sport.

He's meant to be a role model and is spouting homophobic and sexist remarks which young, influential kids will pick up on.

I'm pretty sure I'd never heard of Tyson Fury until a week or so ago. I rather wish I'd still never heard of him.

This.

Yeah I kinda see that but let's be honest it really is just "who's done the best this year" isn't it? Andy Murray is hardly what anyone would call a personality...

For the record I don't particularly like him all that much and there would be much better winners even on a sporting level this year.

Depends how their definition of a role model is perceived.

They are hardly using it in the sense of who has the best BANTER.

So, in the sense of the personality of a sports star then yeah, I would call him a personality. He is a good role model. He works hard, he gives a lot back, does a lot of charity work and appearances, he is a leader within the GB team, he is very successful and anyone wishing to get into ANY sport can only hope to have the passion, commitment and success he has had.

Congratulations to Andy Murray, he becomes only the fourth person to win the award twice.

Definitely the ever so recent Davis Cup triumph that tipped it in his favour.

Aw, I wanted Froome to win it. 2 Tour de France wins - an absolutely amazing achievement but not good enough it seems. :(

But well done to Andy, he is a world class player and I still vividly remember his iconic and richly deserved US Open win in September 2012 listening on my night shift at work on 5Live!

Yeah I wanted Froome as well. I'm no fan of cycling but his achievement was incredible especially seeing as Wiggins had won SPOTY at a canter in 2012 when we were spoilt for choice then.

This was the final vote breakdown:

Murray - 361,446

Sinfeild - 278, 353

Ennis-Hill - 79,898

Fury - 72,330

Hamilton - 48,379

Froome - 39,007

Farah - 31,311

Whitlock - 25,952

Rutherford - 23,492

Armitstead - 22,356

Peaty - 13,738

Bronze - 13,326

Sinfield THAT high up is a bit bemusing, didn't expect him in the top 3 at all myself! Fury was higher than I thought given the negative reception in the lead up to the awards. Jessica Ennis has now finish 3rd three times!

I wanted Jessica Ennis to win it and I voted for her as well but oh well it wasn't meant to be.

I'm sorry, WHY is it bemusing that Sinfield was that high up?

Brilliant sportsman, the epitome of what you would want in a captain and a leader, finished his career leading his team to win every trophy possible to win achieving a treble and a longevity and commitment to a team that you just don't see anymore.

The campaigns and twitter/facebook support were nothing short of superb for a sport that is very much a northern thing to give one of their leading role models such a push is wonderful. Sports stars from across the sports (Jonny Wilkinson/Paul Scholes) and rugby league were brilliant.

Deserved totally and it's great to see how emphatic his voting and position was.

Shame that Murray won. How can someone without a personality win SPOTY??!?!

At least the uber arsehole only came 5th, although that's still too high.

Do you find Lewis more of an arsehole than Tyson? :o
