Has 'Viva Forever' managed to defy the odds and manage to win the contest despite being very nearly eliminated several times? Or is '2 Become 1' just too much to overcome?

In 2nd place is the gorgeously stunning but rather raunchy '2 Become 1'. This became the girls 3rd UK number 1 and first of 3 Christmas number 1's in a row. It's one of their signature hits and is one of the songs that is often fondly remembered by all, it was largely untouched/had little votes right up until the last round or so. It was a monstrous sized hit that was inescapable at the time. The performance below is stunning and obviously it's not without it's usual Victoria charms and the note that Emma holds at 2:30 <3

So here we have it. Before I'd even thought about doing this poll, I thought if someone was to do this poll I'd have thought this would be quite the clear winner... however, just a few rounds in and it looked like this would be struggling even to go top 3! It was so bizarre as I always thought everyone on here at least "liked" it/wouldn't want to start voting it until about round 6! So with all that going off, I really questioned whether it'd actually win. But here we are and here is your WINNER of the poll! Not without it's struggle 'Viva Forever' actually managed to successfully win. To the displeasure of those who have NO HEART or fully functional ears! Such a beautiful, timeless girlband ballad. A song that actually makes me cry on occasion!

 

Also; for those who think the girls can't sing... please watch the below video. Their vocals are wonderful! PARTICULARLY both Mel's harmonising together right at the end <3 <3 <3 One of my all time fave performances :wub:

A great final 2 and I do "Viva Forever", despite voting for it a few times, but honestly glad it won and after listening to again, it is very magical.

Athough not ideal results in places, it's turned out to be one of my fave polls. Whether that's because I hosted and I'm being biased, I don't know :kink: But I'd like to think that even if someone else did it, having the place to express my love for these girls is something I adore doing :wub:

YASSSSS, not just their best but one of the greatest ballads and most beautiful songs of all time. Takes me back to the limbo time between finishing primary school and starting secondary school <3

I can't believe 'Viva Forever' actually made it! Absolutely thrilled, potentially the best single from a girl group, and a hell of a lot better than the overrated '2 Become 1' (still a 6 or 7 out of 10 but that doesn't count for much when you look at the rest of their singles discography).

Can we also have some appreciation for the single that never was... (due to Geri leaving!! :angry:)

 

Yesss 'Viva Forever' is most definitely their best song so I'm glad to see that it persevered right until the end. :wub:

Brilliant winner, one of the best girl group songs of all time for sure <3 (between that and Pure Shores? :thinking: ), I wasn't thinking it would win when it was getting votes so early but glad taste prevailed :D

 

Very good results overall (though Wannabe/Who Do You Think You Are went far too early, my favourites after VF!), thanks for running this Jon!

Never seen the hype with Viva Forever myself, certainly didn't expect it to win out of their singles but these results aren't too bad. Just a shame Spice Up Your Life didn't win.

This poll has utterly destroyed what the Spice Girls are about: bringing the power in female girl bands with light-hearted goodness. And you all had to RUIN THAT with this poll.
