Honey To The Bee! Back when chart download campaigns were a new thing, I found it pretty hilarious when it returned to the top 20 in 2007

"Day And Night", has to be for me, always liked that song and remember when it came out and thought that it was amazing, even loved the video at the time, my younger self thought that it was so ground breaking. But yeah it was just a great song. I actually liked most of her singles, "Because We Want To" was pretty fun at the time and remember seeing her on the News being interviewed as being the youngest ever female singer to have a #1.

Also "Girlfriend", which was so cheesy, but love it as well as "She Wants You" and "Honey To The Bee", which in my opinion should have swapped around release wise, as the latter would have made more sense for the X-Mas market. I even had her first album and there was another track on there I liked called "I Dream" which was really nice and sweet and could have become another hit for her.

I even had her 2nd album, weren't so keen on that, apart from the singles, but did find her version of "The Tide Is High", pretty fun and if I remember correctly it was planned as a single, until she pulled it and quit singing. But oh well she's a fantastic actress now. But at the time her music was fun in a very dated kinda way.

Because We Want To

Honey To The Bee

She Wants You

Something Deep Inside

Walk Of Life

For me, her holy trinity are "Day & Night", "Because We Want To" and "Girlfriend". I find it hard to pick a favourite, but I'd probably go for "Day & Night". The production is very typical of its time, but the song itself stands the test of time the best I think. The other two in my top 3 are quite obviously aimed at teenage girls, but "Day & Night" could appeal to all.
'Day & Night' and 'Because We Want To' are my faves by her (both are pretty much immediate go-to's if I'm feeling nostalgic). I'm not all that familiar with her other singles these days, but have listened to a few today and definitely remember 'Honey to the Bee' and 'Girlfriend'!

Not enough Walk of Life love :(

Day And Night is easily one of the best songs of all time though.

  • 7 years later...

Thought I'd bump this rather than start a new thread altogether. (Mods if you think it should have it's own thread happy for you to separate this).

Billie Piper's singles are starting to appear on stream with EP's for the following now avalible to stream:

Because We Want To

Girlfriend

Honey To The Bee

This means we now have Honey To The Bee (Single Mix) on all streaming platforms. As well as b-sides 'Call Me' & "What's Missing'.

I'm hoping the other singles follow suit soon and come to streaming, as well as her Pokemon movie song Makin' My Way.

I hope that 'f***ed Up World' release on her Spotify page, that most certainly isn't Billie Piper, is removed soon :drama:

Nice that we're getting some singles. I wonder why no single for She Wants You?

Annoys me a bit when labels upload these old releases but don't care enough to input the actual release dates. All three just say '1st January 1998', lazy.

For a minute I thought they were doing them in order, then realised She Wants You was the third single. It was Australia where it was the fourth single.

Not sure why it wasn’t out this with the others. Hopefully it’ll come soon.

Walk Of Life/Walk Of Life/Walk Of Life/Walk Of Life quadruple A-side with the Spicey Ones supremacy. :cheeseblock:

Nah seriously her best were Honey To The Bee and Day & Night.

Omfg THIS!!! 100% TJIS!!! :cheeseblock:

DEFINITELY HER QUADRUPLE A SEED WALK OF LIFE WITH THE SPICY GIRLS!!!

She was a bit rubbish all round IMO (sorry) but 'Honey to the Bee' was a quirky earworm.

If I had to order them I’d probably go with:

Day And Night

Honey To The Bee

She Wants You

Something Deep Inside

Walk Of Life

Girlfriend

Because We Want To

I owned all except Because We Want To & Walk Of Life back in the day, the latter because it never got a release in Australia.

They're all somewhere between ok and quite good, apart from Day and Night and Honey To The Bee, both of which I listen to quite a bit. Glad the latter's single mix is up to stream now.

She Wants You isn't too bad, the single mix is much better. I remember being surprised it missed No.1 at the time but B*Witched proved too strong on the same week (and I way prefer To You I Belong personally so wasn't mad).

I did a ranking on the previous page but I'd say this nowadays:

1 Day and Night

2 Something Deep Inside

3 Girlfriend

4 Honey to the Bee

5 Because We Want To

6 Walk of Life

7 She Wants You - for some reason the one I go back to least, it's still a great song though!

She didn't miss *.*

Wait, there’s a single mix of She Wants You? I know there’s a Radio Edit on a promo but I assumed that was just the intro chopped off, like it is in the music video?
