What do you mean re more and more impact date! Is it not out out yet? Confused

It's out, but only just with minimal promotion. Lots of songs nowadays are released several weeks before they have any kind of impact on the charts. There's still a video and more promotion to come, plus the possibility of it being picked up by radio. The impact week isn't the week the song's released, but the week where the record company expect the song to make its first meaningful dent on the chart - a sort of unofficial release date.

Oh right I see, seems a funny way of doing things! I know capital and a few others have been playing it a bit - it's yet to be picked up by kiss heart and radio 1 though it's been played A couple times on radio 1 but it's not being overly played which is why it's not making much of a wave IMO. However I guess have to give it time - thank you for explaining this to me, I wasn't aware this was the case I thought they expected her to get a top 20 or 10 hit after her NTA performance and to be stamped on the OOC in its first

Week of Announcemnt it was 2nd single.

Surge in sales for Bowie albums this week

It looks like Bowie fans are old-fashioned enough to wait for the CDs to be restocked, rather than just downloading the albums.

Top 100 Singles

3 Jonas Blue feat. Dakota - Fast Car (19,022) *

FYI, I have Tracy Chapman's original version on 725k, as at the start of Dec 2015 - it generally sells ~1.5k/wk.

Surely Bowie fans would already have his albums - especially the ones that are selling well.

11/40 albums are Bowie albums - assuming Nothing Has Changed is still in the Top 40
I'm guessing part of the Bowie surge was the fact that Amazon were still taking orders while they were out of stock and giving an estimated ship date? Seems as though lots of people were happy to wait 2 weeks and placed orders? The impact could have been even greater if more stock had been available for those that didn't want to wait!

Would the sales not count to the week the orders were placed?

I don't know for certain but I'd doubt it as you're not charged until the order is available to be dispatched are you?

I don't think so, they are like pre-orders, aren't they?

No as they only charge you just prior to dispatch.

Plus ~150k from the 80s which puts it at 875k+ so should pass 1m some point in 2017!

Wouldn't the 725k already include the 80s sales?
