...what would you put on the playlist??

Thought I'd make this as we all famously have our disagreements of what's on what playlist (eg. Capital playlisting STALE songs until they've been played to death).

I'll do a Capital playlist as it doesn't take up as much time~~

Alan Walker - Sing Me to Sleep

Anne-Marie - Alarm

Beyoncé - Hold Up

Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For (feat. Rihanna)

Charlie Puth - We Don’t Talk Anymore (feat. Selena Gomez)

Cheat Codes x Kris Kross Amsterdam - Sex

Clean Bandit - Tears (feat. Louisa Johnson)

Coldplay - Up&Up

Craig David - One More Time

DJ Khaled - For Free (feat. Drake)

David Guetta - This One's for You (feat. Zara Larsson) [Official Song UEFA EURO 2016™]

Desiigner - Panda

Drake - One Dance (feat. Wizkid & Kyla)

Drake - Too Good (feat. Rihanna)

Flo Rida - Hello Friday (feat. Jason Derulo)

Fifth Harmony – All In My Head [Flex] (feat. Fetty Wap)

Galantis - No Money

gnash - i hate u, i love u (feat. olivia o’brien)

Gorgon City - All Four Walls (feat. Vaults)

High Contrast - Remind Me

Jonas Blue - Perfect Strangers (feat. JP Cooper)

Justin Bieber - Company

Justin Timberlake - CAN'T STOP THE FEELING! (Original Song From DreamWorks Animation's "Trolls")

Kiiara - Gold

Kungs & Cookin' On 3 Burners - This Girl (Kungs vs. Cookin' On 3 Burners) - Single

Lukas Graham - Mama Said

MK & Becky Hill - Piece of Me

Meghan Trainor - Me Too

Mike Will Made-It & Rihanna - Nothing Is Promised

MØ - Final Song

Nick Jonas - Close (feat. Tove Lo)

OneRepublic - Wherever I Go

P!nk - Just Like Fire (From "Alice Through the Looking Glass")

Protoje - Who Knows (feat. Chronixx) [sHY FX Remix]

Reggie 'N' Bollie - New Girl

Shawn Mendes - Treat You Better

Sigala - Give Me Your Love (feat. John Newman & Nile Rodgers)

Sigma - Cry (feat. Take That)

twenty one pilots - Ride

...feel free to try a playlist (oh, and use http://alphabetizer.flap.tv/ to alphabetize your list :D)

I SHOULD MENTION (:P), I mean current songs like chart music, not the entire tracklist of slightly below average pop albums.

Corrected for you. :D

I'd just like to see a combo of hits (from the last maybe month, to keep it fresh) and all the new releases, to give everything a fair crack of the whip at becoming a hit. It feels like this is how it was done in the past, although maybe that'd just because things used to drop out of the chart quicker and possibly record companies used to have more power/money to push new releases.

Some of those are great picks, new releases I hadn't heard of, Mdh. So I would ask, where did you find out about them? Where are new releases listed? Spotify's 'new releases' section is woefully incomplete, especially for the amount of new releases there must be every week from under the radar and unsigned or lowkey artists. Out of that list, I'd never heard of the Protoje or High Contrast, and only know the Mike Will x Rihanna because I heard it mentioned on another thread.

I usually look on http://kworb.net/itunes/_uk.html, not only does it contain the whole top 200, it also has handy 24 hour chart runs so you can see what's climbing and looking to become a hit - also I tend to look at the new releases posts from ManicKangaroo, if you look past the popular releases people talk about you can usually find a few tracks that are lesser known but have a chance of being hits. Also in Dan's combined top 100 posts you can usually see some new tracks near the bottom of the top 100. :D

Blade and Tolu - Funky Feelin

Mark Knight -Voulez-Who (Number 2 on beatport at the minute!)

Felipe Avelar - Love Games

Ma Junior - De la Muerta

Water Juice - Release The Best

And other new songs from the Beatport Disco subgenre I found these in https://www.beatport.com/tracks/all?subgenre=18&page=1

The rock stuff they have in their playlist is good, I wouldn't really change that, but I might put a few new album songs in from time to time from melodic metal bands I like eg. Kamelot, Dragonforce etc.

The R&B needs to be better in their playlist, so I would get rid of the kitch ubercool stuff like Kiiara - Gold which is a not a coherant song to my ears, just noises put together.

And if I was in charge of the capital playlist, I would add these songs too and also reduce the time songs were on the playlist for dramatically

...what would you put on the playlist??

My BJSC entry for that month. And probably nothing else, aside from maybe some of my past entries to mix things up. It'd put Global's Cover Drive/Lawson etc. spam tactics to shame bwahahaha

OneRepublic - Counting Stars

Maroon 5 (feat. Christina Aguilera) - Moves Like Jagger

Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

Lawson - Roads

Jessie J - Domino

Ed Sheeran - Photograph

Ed Sheeran - Don't

Lukas Graham - 7 Years

Pitbull - Give Me Everything

And then maybe some older songs to counter-act all those fresh songs.

That's a great playlist, but a lil sprinkle of 'All Of Me' and 'Ho Hey' would make this perfect (those former chart saviours need a permanent home to reside)

and don't forget the SUPER-PHRESH song that is 'I Gotta Feeling' by The Black Eyed Peas, and the version that cuts out the rap so it feels like the chorus on repeat for 3 minutes.
What about the new one from Justin Bieber, Love Yourself?

Yes it's number 30 in the chart this week, it's doing quite well.

I remember Airplanes and Love The Way You Lie spent ages on the top 40 in 2010 for the pre streaming era and the two songs you mentioned did as well a few years later, was that due to Capital keeping those songs on their playlist for too long
