Drake is the sort of person to throw a party, and eat the whole birthday cake.

Hopefully Kungs can dethrone One Dance

Surprisingly, Kungs is on course to be this week's #1 (it is the day's best seller too). Though I wouldn't rule out Drake getting an end-of week boost from streaming (plus Kungs finally getting to #1 seems too good to be true).

Data must be missing too, even though it states none is. I can't imagine Drake only sold 3.5k yesterday.

Joel Adams only sold 64 copies yesterday so I'm quite certain Monday's data is still missing and they've not got any for Tuesday as per usual either.

Delighted with Take That and Sigma still top 40.

The album top 5 that we see in today's report will be the top 5 on Friday as i cant see it changing. If Rick Astley had done Glastonbury he would be giving Adele a good run for the top spot.

Didn't expect 19 to get so high, even with sales being so abysmal. Could Adele have 3 albums in the top 10 come Friday?

With streaming missing (I don't believe the info that nothing is missing) Pet Shop Boys have re-entered at Number 188 with “Twenty Something”

Sales: ~2K

Looks possible. seems like the only way to get 3 albums in the top ten is either to die or be called 'Adele'. Amazing success for her and, imo, well deserved.

Wow at how high 19 & 21 are!

Imagine 21 stays top 10 and if 19 could get there, all 3 top 10 at the same time - that would be epic! Has she done that before?

Speaking of Adeles, what on earth has happened to Emeli Sande? Her second era is long overdue now.

The demise of the PSB singles success has always surprised me, I know sales are higher but they are the type of band that has always had a dedicated fanbase that collect every release. Their new single is on CD with 2 unreleased bonus tracks and download EP and will miss the Top 200 - It seems as though they have dimished to 500 fans that buy all formats.

The lead single 'The Pop Kids' from this era was released on CD, Vinyl and EP and again failed to chart.

Poor Jake Bugg :(

His album has already plummeted from last week's #4 to #17 according to this weds update.

I agree, you would at least expect the Singles to chart in the lower reaches. I wonder whether they won't bother releasing a CD Single next time.

Some of the reviews for latest Album were ok but in my view it wasn't one of their best although I thought 'The Pop Kids' might break through, they performed on "The Graham Norton Show" but was always going to struggle with Airplay and Streaming counting against them.

I too am surprised with the outcome of the Pet Shop Boys singles. As they are a fan base act and release in multiple formats i wrongly assumed on numerous occasions it would be enough to see them reach the top 100. I find it shocking how low their singles are charting.

I don't understand how anyone can be surprised that PSB doesn't chart... Their music couldn't be less mainstream in this day if they tried.

They will get a revival in a decade, don't worry.

Is 'Work' finally out of the Top 40 please?

It was #38 yesterday

Hopefully we'll have mids update today

Pet SHop Boys last hit the top 40 in Christmas 2014 with the Christmas EP if i remember correctly?

I think you mean 2009 rather than 2014, but that EP was their last Top 40 anyway. In fact, they hadn't even missed the Top 25 until then, whilst the closest they've got to the Top 40 since that EP was 'Leaving', which came slightly short at #44 in 2012.

Thanks! Surely it can't last much longer in the Top 40 as it's #39 on Spotify and #86 on iTunes.
