So the Olympic games are finishing on Sunday. Is anyone going to miss the Olympics once it's over?

I can't say that I will because I've hardly watched it, all I've seen really are a few races here and there. The timezone difference and being really busy has made it hard to watch a lot of the events. It's going to be just as awkward in four years time when it's in Tokyo. I remember waking up at 6 AM on weekends to watch matches when the 2002 FIFA World Cup was being held in Japan because of the timezone difference or listening to the radio commentaries at school.

I'm going to miss it, it's the most I've watched sports for quite a while (despite being busy), I've enjoyed seeing the frantic pace of what's new over the last two weeks. Tokyo 2020 can't come soon enough.

Ivory Coast and Tajikistan getting their first gold medals tonight to follow on from Jordan yesterday, very well done to those for getting past all the richer countries. It's been a great games for gold medal debuts, there hasn't even been any nations debuting on just silver or bronze.

Lutalo Muhammed losing the gold medal in the taekwondo with only 1 second remaining is one of the saddest things I've seen in sport
I was so pissed off after losing last night. We were so much better but it didn't lead to a win. You don't mess with a Dutchman and their hockeyteams :')
Another team GB gold for a man in a boat, yaas. With the 2 guaranteed medals (hopefully Gold) from boxing and then Tom and Mo that would put us on par with London in total medals (equal on gold if they all win). With the Women's Triathlon, Modern Pentathlon and a few other events left too. DARING TO DREAM.
Nick Skelton winning is definitely my (team GB) medal of the games. Watching him on the podium really trying to fight back the tears was such a genuine, wonderful moment.

This was mine too for the same reasons, it was just so lovely to watch. Bryony Page remains a very close second though for her joy and disbelief at the trampolining medal.

Tom Daley going from first in the prelims yesterday to last in the semi today, eek

What an unfortunate collapse, looks like he was (unsurprisingly) barely holding it together in the interview

the two Brits fighting for bronze in the trialthlon was heartbreaking

tho major goosebumps watching Nicola Adams get her 2nd successive gold 💕

She definitely did smash it. A real down to earth woman she is. Nicola Adams. You definitely wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her.

I am glad Nicola got her second gold. Although I must say I found it really disrespectful that the BBC commentators kept referring to her opponent as the French girl.

Nicola is amazing, not just in the ring, out of it too. So glad she could defend her title.

Tom's spectacular belly flop today was awful to watch, you just knew it was going to be a disaster once his confidence went near the start. Such a shame for him of course, but the media pressure on him was HUGE so I can't even begin to imagine how awful he is feeling about it all with that added on top.

That's terrible news about Tom Daley, after getting the Olympic record in the preliminaries as well!

Up to 26 golds now so just three more to match London - it's a bit of a longshot maybe but Mo Farah, Joe Joyce (in a boxing final) and Bianca Walkden (favourite to win a second taekwondo gold apparently) all have a pretty decent chance! Farah and Walkden getting medals of any colour will also mean we beat London's medal total.

A real shame to see Lutalo Muhammad losing in the literal last second in the taekwondo last night, he was absolutely devastated in the interview after the match. Although... his opponent was his country's first ever gold medallist which is always interesting to see so could have been worse. Speaking of first time medallists in taekwondo, sad to see Anthony Obame losing the first round, was willing him to win gold for Gabon after narrowly losing the final last time  (he still has a chance at bronze if our guy makes the final though).

that taekwondo final was unbelievable! 1 second on the clock when they got tapped back in or whatever they call it and he gets a head shot. 1 SECOND.

The modern pentathlon commentators are patronising what a daft thing to say in the show jumping round in the men's that 'There are a lot of mistakes compared to the individual show jumping'. Well they are given only two hours with the horse before they take part in their round.
