True, I don't see it going top ten very soon either

I'm thrilled partly because it will be the first chart entry for Halsey

Second! She featured on Justin Bieber's The Feeling which made it to #34 upon the album's release ^_^

I'm not sure anything would be a hit from Purpose now sadly, so many people own the album, it's always hard to get a massive post-album hit from a huge album!

Yeah I edited seconds after I posted :P

Ahh fair enough! :heehee:

The Feeling should have been a single :( Shame it looks like they've given up on the Purpose era now

Yeah. Justin and the team are probably going to hold back until Cold Water has been and gone - and by then it'll be near Christmas. There's also the small matter of his track with DJ Snake which'll probably be released soon.

They released the first 3 singles in very short time and Company was a relative flop so it takes a re-release to have another proper hit from Purpose. And Justin's team is not that old fashioned (keeping in mind that he has already had one collection of songs that wasn't a proper album campaign, Journals, that is. Which is my fave album of his)

Everywhere seems sold out of Viola Beach's album. I haven't struggled like this since Jess Glynne's. I may have to actually download it instead but I really want the physical.

HMV is the only place which sells Viola Beach's album. It's not been stocked in any supermarkets

Yeah but even Amazon and HMV online are currently out of stock.

Hi, I know it's not the right place but could anybody answer this? If an artist had a cd signing in HMV on the Thursday befor the Friday of the release, could they sell the new album at the signing? Obviously that's the point of the signing, anybody know how that works? Like chart wise , cheers

Many acts do sell their record at a signing, in fact it's usually done for that purpose, to promote (and to sell) the release. The sale would count for the charts. However if the album isn't supposed to be available until the next day then the act is somewhat diluting sales across two chart sales weeks because if the album is sold on a Thursday it will (or at least should) count as a sale for the charts for that week. However Amazon sometimes ships an album a day or two before release and it somehow manages to count as a sale for the next week - which in theory shouldn't happen.

Beach or Ocean?

It's a dilemma that a few of us are facing on Holiday at this time of year!

Oh great, thanks. Usually the signing happens after its release to spike sales. So of course the Thursday sales would count for the current week, thank you

Top 5 singles are looking more like non movers by the end of the week once the missing data is collated.

Viola Beach can't really miss with those sales, Christine and the Queens could push ELO down a place.

Hang on... Simple Minds, didn't know they had anything new out, mind you the release looks like a collection from the 80s, must bag that collection myself. I love their material especially the 80s era. Hang on again... bit pricey for £20, that's going to fall quite a fair bit by the end of the week.

I was expecting a lot bigger sales for Cold Water, if I'm honest. I was expecting it to crack 100k by Friday so have around 45k so far.
