Tennis Court is also my fav of hers and should have been #1 instead of Royals :) never understood why Royals did so well and Tennis Court did absolutely nothing :/

Absolutely this!!

the song's about those moments kind of immediately after your life changes and all the silly little things that you gravitate towards, this is that drunk girl at the party dancing around crying about her ex-boyfriend who everyone thinks is a mess

i cant stop listening

I can't really see this as being dance? It sounds like something Foxes would do (kind of like 'Let Go For Tonight' or 'Better Love', or something like that.

Actually, it's really similar to 'Youth' which may explain why I like it.

Foxes was the first thing that came to mind for me also when I first listened to this!

Yeah, it's very Foxes but that's a good thing!

lol

As if someone as irrelevant and beige as Foxes could make something as amazing as that. Pfffftt

Anyway, this is fabulous. The last minute is especially amazing with the production shining through. Total goosebumps moment <333

All people who say she sold out need to perhaps pay Lorde's bills and maybe she will be able to afford something super edgy and inaccessible to pop fans. :)

Seriously though, this is like the best type of pop. The lyrics are not cheesy, the image is not vulgar or tasteless. Even taking music video into account, there is barely any sex or something that is usually a driving marketing force in 'sold out' pop music videos (bling, moneyz, tits, hot girlz, big houses, motorcycles, large walls with graffiti, etc.).

I didn't consider myself a fan of hers after the first album but now she shut me up. Bae

It's good and that's literally it for me. But hey, that's more than what I thought it would be :D
why does that quote remind me of lotti so much
Probs coz of the word beige. xx

i was talking about the "drunk girl at the club" quote

it said mess

Yes, I am adoring this. I was worried about her going too pop but it is just the right amount.

So good.

really liking this!!!

it's different for her but definitely not a sell-out, it's not like anything else in the chart at the moment!

It feels a bit disjointed and not sure what type of song it wants to be as others have said, I definitely preferred her more minimalist sound. I do enjoy parts of it though so it possibly could grow on me.
Album release date June 15th.
Not sure if this was a typo or not, but that date is Thursday, which is highly unlikely to happen.

Anyway, as far as I know, it could be released either June 9 or June 16. There isn't any confirmation which one will be though. However, the pre-order of the album is expected to be out next week to coincide with her SNL performance.

From HDD:

The singer/songwriter is previewing and discussing the track (in reference of "Green Light") on fellow kiwi Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show this morning (3/2), discussing working with producer/writer Jack Antonoff, among other things; look for another track coinciding with her 3/11 SNL appearance and album pre-orders next week.
I'm in agreement this is wonderful <3 It's a great natural next step, I'd have been so bored if she kept to the same minimal depressing sound, this is pop and upbeat and danceable but it still feels realistic for her cruically.
she released this on a thursday tho?
That's true, but single releases are different than album releases. That said, I don't think she will drop an album on a Thursday instead of a Friday.

In the last few weeks a lot of artists have been releasing on a Thursday, it's a nifty technique to amass hype before New Music Friday and get a high Spotify entry etc. I'm glad Lorde's only lost 5 hours of UK sales from releasing on a Thursday tho, good thinking @ label.

She didn't lose anything.
