I don't think Soundcloud has as much subscribers as Spotify, maybe a tenth of it or even less. So even if it would count wouldn't make much difference to the chart.

I don't think you have to subscribe to SoundCloud to listen to songs on it. The people with SC accounts are the content producers.

Or it just isn't actually swearing - I thought it was "f**k yeah" but it obviously isn't or the label would have removed it on the radio edit?

Yeah, when it comes to recent songs, you'd think the label would send in a clean edit, even if the radio station wouldn't have thought to use a clean version.

It's perhaps a bit more understandable how these things slip when it comes to older songs because record companies may not have sent in the song, as obviously they're not trying to promote it at that point (I have no idea how songs get on to radio so don't take my word or anything!).

That said, I do remember being certain that some radio stations overlooked the swearing in 'Rolling in the Deep', because it led me to believe the word was "ship".

I do think you have to. I wanted to listen to a song and couldn't without a registration.

I'm sure the OCC will not count any streaming services if you can listen to a song without registration/subscription. Subscription even if it's for free.

If without any kind of registration you can listen to a song, it will not be counted to the official charts.

Also with SoundCloud it is like YouTube in the sense that anyone can upload a song to it.
You can listen to Soundcloud tracks without an account, I do it all the time for BJSC entries.

I don't really use Soundcloud to be honest but then this remark from me is true.

The word 'f**k' is generally not deemed as offensive now as it was a few years ago, but yeah I would still expect it to be covered. I remember radio 1 allowed the multiple uses of the word 'bitch' to appear in Lily Allen's Hard Out Here but Fearne Cotton said "If you have any kids in the car you probably should turn the volume down" before she played it.

On Nick Grimshaw's late night show there were more swearwords allowed to appear in Azealia Bank's 212 on its initial release like 'd**k' and Grimshaw even asked on air after why would you ask in a song 'what's your d**k like'. But then it is late night though. Although the BBC eventually decided it wasn't suitable even at night time as soon on night time the 'd**k' references were edited too.

I remember reading that some local BBC presenter unknowingly played a version of The Sun Has Got His Hat On that contained the n-word a few years ago iirc.

Lol. Top 20 eh? Without Ed Sheeran's unannounced double release, looks like I would've been right.

Hope so too otherwise after about 6 single releases it will make the success of 'Who Do You Think Of' seem like a glitch!

101. John "The Ragin Cajun" Jones - I'm Only Human After All (Don't Put Your Blame on Me) [Remix]

!! This managed to be top 100 for the last Kworb update too :') Probably getting buys from people searching "I'm only human after all" into iTunes?

All the 'La La Land' songs are falling away now. </3 Hopefully they can climb back up a bit later tonight and tomorrow (due to it being 2-4-1 at cinemas) and climb back through the weekend, although I expect this will be it now?
So it has the what may or may not be f**k yeah bit on Radio 1 too :o . I haven't listened recently.

There was an example in Robin Thicke ft Kendrick Lamar - Give It 2 You where the word d**k isn't edited out on the radio version.

Also in Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus, d**k wasn't edited out originally in the radio edit iirc which is weird but understandably the word 'gun' in the context of 'she brings a gun to school' was.

The best one was Chase and Status ft Delilah - Time where 'I'm fooking suffocating' was used in the radio edit

I remember Radio 1 was playing '212' for ages and forgot to edit out the lyric about "warm goo".

Is that a fake or a different track completely?

I find that movie soundtrack songs (most recently Still Falling For You by Ellie Goulding) usually climb most on Wednesday nights and weekends.
