I think it's actually a dark green update with the incorrect colour, if you look at the numbers - Kworb does that a lot. Slowing down a lot though.

 

Rise was an Apple exclusive though, so unless you had Apple Music you had to download from iTunes to hear it. It wasn't even on YouTube.

 

It was on Youtube. It had an Olympics video.

I just listened to Katy Perry's new song on YouTube as I saw that it's #1 on Trending at the moment. It's not bad by her standards but I can't see myself listening to it again out of choice.

 

 

She wont be able to go above Shape Of You on iTunes but could have a chance at getting #2 if overall weekend downloads work in her favour.

Tbh even allowing for her possibly not having quite as dedicated a fanbase as similar artists, I am still a little surprised she's not getting to #1 on iTunes easily here when she did so with 'Rise'. It's not really important though, the song sounds like one that will be big in the long run.

Who did she have to contend with for 'Rise' though? And like Joe said, 'Rise' had the "first new Katy song in 2 years" hype surrounding it and as someone else said, it was an Apple exclusive, so I imagine they all factored into it going straight to number 1.

 

But yeah, it won't matter overall as the label seem to be on the mark and pushing the streaming side of things so much more, than sale side of things. She'll have a big debut tomorrow on Spotify I imagine. Even with 5 hours missing.

A bad so g following a bad ballad in the summer. It will flop.

The problem with Chained... is that while the beat is quite good and radio friendly, the chorus makes the whole song quite cheesy. It's obviously written by Sia (you can hear it immediately) but doesn't really go hand in hand with the production and neither does the reggae rap by Skip... Dunno. It's definitely better than Rise which was total garbage from start to finish
