Interesting that you think that, but I think 'Just Dance' wasn't generic at the time. It was pretty fresh for a pop song! It only feels generic now because it's very "of it's time" (although it's still one of my fave Gaga songs!) and it got re-done so many times by other artists. Definitely didn't feel as generic as (for example) 'Telephone' did when that got released, imo.

 

I also don't think it matters if this "flops" or not. I can't see it being on her next album and whilst I watched the performance of it, I was thinking that she only did this for Coachella and for the fans, really. If it catches on, bonus.

I dont mean generic in terms of production but lyrical content like Just Dance, its very basic and simple lyric wise

I always welcome the surprise return of an artist people who use the iTunes thread consider to be irrelevant. I'm no Gaga fan (Bad Romance is incredible tho) but she's refreshing when you've just seen weeks and weeks of bland Ed Sheeran and faceless dance tracks.

Ha, people who are calling this Gaga track rubbish when they stan Ed Sheeran and the Chainsmokers hahaha oh oh okay, anyway The Cure is a bop and hope it's a hit for her. I love how versatile she is and how she can release a record like Joanne, then less than seven months later come out with a simple yet effective song like this. YAS GAGA!

If it was Sia they'd be on board but I fear for it as it's Gaga :drama: It has a chance though definitely, if this can't revive her career it's gonna literally take another Bad Romance!!
