Can hardly get too excited about the result yesterday. OK it was pretty great denying them the title there & then especially when they were certain they had it in the bag at HT - PLUS we proved we can come from behind away at a big team under Mourinho, possibly the first time that's happened in the League (?).

But it's no different to when they rocked up to Old Trafford in 2013 & won a dead rubber 2-1. The gap is still 13 points which is pretty galling and I'm extremely doubtful we'll be winning the League at least under Mourinho.

Because this Man Utd side is goog to average at best and all my opinion of course, but there's a reason you have not challenged for the title this year. I think Spurs/Man Utd/Liverpool are all at the same sort of level right now but the former two have the higher ceiling. Don't get me wrong, I don't think City will walk away with the title next year like this season, but the context of yesterdays game needs to be mentioned.

While the win is great for Man Utd, that first half performance was terrible. Another day and City are 5-0 ahead and you have no chance. 2nd half you had the aggression, Man City crumbled and lost their heads, which as shown a few times this season can happen. The luck was certainly with you, but Man City have also got a lot of luck this year too.

Man City will be favourites and rightfully so, if I made a prediction now I would guess that they will win it next season as well but I do think there is a chance for United and even Tottenham/Liverpool. Like you said Man City wont run away with it again and I don't think we'll see a team win 19 out of their first 20 league matches again for many years.

And also Chelsea might respond to a new manager like they usually do!
West Brom have had their proposal for a safe standing area at The Hawthorns rejected by the government.
Tottenham Hotspur have lodged an appeal for Harry Kane to be given the winning goal against Stoke instead of Christian Eriksen.

That is just embarrassing.

Harry Kane awareded the goal.

Rightly getting the piss taken out of him  It is absolutely embarrassing. I would love to see the evidence because I have seen it a few times and there is no way he makes contact with that ball.

Let's rewind 5 seasons when everyone was screaming for VAR? Fickle, fickle, football.

I think we still need the technology, but right now the technology is not advanced enough and it's causing mass confusion. Seeing it happen in a game live in the stadium must be even worse. I think referees need to be trained in it properly as while it's a great tool, in it's current concept I don't think it's right.

VAR has hardly been an overwhelming success in the FA Cup so it's not really surprising Premier League clubs have rejected it for next season.
I think it was a bit farcical for the Spurs-whoever it was match (but let's be honest that was never a contest) but the other one it was much maligned for was Pool-WBA. Okay the decisions took a joke of a time to resolve BUT they did get them all right, the offside, the Salah pen etc.

As one team from Birmingham (West Brom) are about to leave another team from that city (Wolves) are about to enter next season. I think Wolves will do really well next season and I can see them finishing between 10th-12th in the league. I doubt West Brom will bounce straight back like they have done in the past and if Aston Villa get promoted as well that will just compound what a miserable season it's been for West Brom.

Other than that it's beginning to look like the current bottom 3 will be the final bottom 3.

Half time last week the word dire sprung to mind, today is another D word... Dour, it's all well and good trying to create the perfect opportunity/goal, but with a 10 man defence to break down, you have to be a bit quicker and bit more direct.

I think people from Wolverhampton might disagree with you there. It may be near Birmingham but it is a completely separate city.

Manchester United

There is no way you are ever winning the Premier League under Jose Mourinho said it many times before, until you get rid of him you'll always do that. I'm interested to see who he throws under the bus now that Luke Shaw was not playing :D

Man United were awful simple as that.

So Man City have won the title might be the earliest it has won been in the Premier League since 2000/2001 season?

Yes, this is earliest since 2000-2001, Everton did it in the 80's, and the 1907-1908 season was the first season recorded as it happening this early.

EDIT: Looks like I had a rough weekend with my prognostications in the predictions thread...
