I have missed the big budget pop video, so that is nice. It all looks very impressive.

But this is just so massively unlikeable. I can't get past the whole look how funny and self-aware I am angle. The ending is especially cringe-worthy.

A solid nope to everything so far.

It's not really this year, it's been bubbling away for a while now... But she's about to go number one everywhere so she's fine.

People have always disliked Taylor Swift.

I think this video is one of the best high-profile pop music videos I've seen in a long time.

Finding it weird how much the public have turned on Taylor... similar happened to Katy Perry early this year!

I would say most people don't even know about all the criticism she's been getting on social media etc. Do most people care about the Kim and Kanye stuff? Does the average person care that she sells herself as this American feminist and then doesn't say anything during or post election? No. Does Twitter? Yes.

50% of the Katy backlash is because of a haircut and the bops not being boppy enough. I doubt the majority gives a damn about the problematic stuff.

Everything here is bang on.

Its as if the end scene with her referencing the 'old me's' is trying to show that she is so self-aware and witty, and yet the entire song and the rest of the video just show how lacking in any self awareness she really is. She is being that bitchy nasty schoolgirl that everyone thinks she is. All she is doing is cementing her 'reputation' deeper into the ground. Trying to give off the facade of deliberate self-awareness whilst clearly showing you have no grip on it at all doesn't really work Taylor and makes you even more unlikeable.

Best music video I've watched in years. Probably my favourite since... Work Bitch?
the song itself is tuneless and kind of melody free and not very good, like it's super unlistenable and she's slowly drifting into very unpleasant territory...like she's not some sort of hard done by victim and the worlds not against her; she really needs to stop placing her artistic licence and musicality around her narcassism and self-perceived slights...

All these things just keep her super star status up. If she didn't carry herself like this the media would lose interest.

all of this! These sort of pop stars exist in a sort of (very large) bubble. They do not command the universe of popular culture - just a small part of it.

Still this is not the kind of song she needed. It won't hang around for ages and if the second single isn't a major banger, this will be remembered as the start of the implosion of Taylor Swift.

Well its the same as what happened to Justin Beiber a few years ago but now he seems to be more liked again. Maybe the same will happen with Taylor.

I'm pretty sure the second single will be a big pop banger, her and team aren't stupid. This is the big "comeback" (for want of a better word, I know she's only been gone like 2 years but you know what I mean) to get people talking and that is exactly what it's doing especially with the video now.
One of my favourite music videos for some time this. Pretty sure the yellow car crashing was a reference to Katy Perry there and the end was a reference to Kanye possibly.
God I can't stand her but this has to be one of the best pop videos in quite some time! Clearly a big budget and it really comes across!
Been away for a few days so only just getting around to this. Have to say, it is fairly decent on first listen!
That video has really won me over  I love the end lol "getting receipts", "I would like to be excluded from this narrative"

The carcrash was to Kanye I think, he got into one. The grammy was towards Katy, just like when she walks away from the car at 2:20

Kim got it good too with the bathtub and receipts one
