#21 in the UK this week - shame it couldn't stay Top 20 after being #18 in the mids, but that's a much better position than I would have expected this time last week! It's the same position Rebel Heart was at in its third week.

What are the total sales now? I’m praying it can scrape a certification someday lol
But she is playing multiple nights in each theater, i.e. a residency. If it hadn't been for the tour bundle, she wouldn't have debuted @ #1 in the USA.

Her popularity is waning. She has become a legacy act that only the fans care about.

She is 60. People have ridiculous expectations of her.

Quite. Half her fans expect her to reinvent music every 2 years while the other half of the population resent her for not just releasing an album thus:

Kinda Similar to a Prayer

Mama Don’t Moan

Elle

Vacation

Open Your Part

Beam Of Colour

Chilled

Fabric Lady

Onto the Move

Terminated Call

The Mightiness of Hello

La Isla Conchita

Bonkers For You

Deluxe only tracks:

Spanky Wanky

Correct Blue

No Blubbering For Me Venezuela

Don't forget the people that resent her for even daring to release music *at her age* in the first place

#21 in week 3 is pretty good :)

We had a Glastonbury effect this week too which would’ve dragged her down the charts further so that’s good to see. It would’ve been great to see her remain top 20 but it’s better than the US drop :P

Sales haven’t dropped too much this week either going by the Sales thread on the main page.

Hoping it can remain top 40 again this week.

Madame X

(23 copies sold prior to release date)

1. #02 - 27,227

2. #14 - 4,642

3. #21 - 3,415

Total: 35,308 (For some reason the official total is 1 copy higher than the above figures total up to)

Comparing it to...

Rebel Heart

1. #02 - 37,245

2. #07 - 12,398 (Music Week reported this as 11,983 but they made a mistake, it actually sold 12,398... they forgot to include its streams!)

3. #21 - 4,906

Total: 54,549

Rebel Heart was certified silver after 5 weeks on sale, but it hasn't made it to gold yet. I think it might end up being a long wait for Madame X to go silver.

Yeah, like I said before, I can't see this album going Silver unless they playlist another song on Radio 2.

I can see this album doing pretty similar to Dido's latest.

Those sales are pretty good though considering how much the album sales market has collapsed in recent years and streaming an album doesn't equal buying it (as it shouldn't).

Her only chance to reach eventually platinum in this day and age is to have a GH released in Q4.

Album sales have generally declined since rebel heart and Madonna’s age now goes against her in terms of radio support. She needs to release a stronger single from the album to make more of an impact.

Madonna, the new Dido :D

It has a sharp fall this week but maybe it wont fall any further for this week.

Silver Status looks like the best outcome now.

It's midweek position this week is where I thought it would've been last week.

It's not that bad a drop tbh when it's now week 4 and there's no promo for the release.

I think it'll stick around the lower end of the top 100 for a while though but this may well be it's last week top 40.

It needs a boost of some sort. Gaga's Joanne performed a bit like Madame X initially but that went gold in the end.

It dropped out of top 200 in the US, but it was kind of expected. The margins are super small and positions 101-200 are filled with old GH albums and classics such as Back in Black.

Well one can't get a bigger boost than Super Bowl tbh, and Madonna did that in 2012 already.
