Posted October 3, 20177 yr 08th. Chained To The Rhythm = 11 Votes Um7pMggPnug Welcome to Round 17 and the 18th song to be voted out is 'Chained To The Rhythm' with by far the most votes, 11 more than half than any other songs. This also means that we lose our first era, the 'Witness' era, the first to lose all it's singles, so this has lasted quite well considering the follow up singles went pretty early on (R6 + R10) respectively. While I am glad it managed to make the final 10 here, I'd still wouldn't rank it as one of her best, while it is a good comeback song, it's not great and while I do like the more mature direction she has gone in and held out in hope that further releases would put her back on top (i.e. they didn't), this lacks that purposeful bite that her previous lead singles had. The song does have warm shimmering disco beat with hints of tropical thrown in and the overall message on social commentary is an interesting direction for Katy to take, it just isn't executed all that greatly and could have done with a bit more fine tuning. As for the other results, for the first time in this competition every song had votes meaning now that things have got more serious. 'HNC' & 'CG' both had the 2nd highest amount of votes with 5 each, 'Roar' got 4 votes while 'TD' & 'DH' both got 2 votes each. Then finally 'E.T.' & 'Firework' got 1 vote each. Right then just 7 songs left, same rules apply just vote for your least fave song by the next round and the one with the most votes will be voted out. Results: 08th. = Chained To The Rhythm (Ft Skip Marley) = 11/35.48% 09th. = Waking Up In Vegas = 9/29.03% 10th. = Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) = 8/23.53% 11th. = Wide Awake = 6/23.08% 12th. = The One That Got Away = 12/34.29% 13th. = Swish, Swish (Ft Nicki Minaj) = 8/22.22% 14th. = Feels (Ft Calvin Harris, Pharrell & Big Sean) = 11/35.48% 15th. = I Kissed To Girl = 5/25.00% 16th. = If We Ever Meet Again (Ft Timbaland) = 8/15.09% 17th. = Birthday = 13/24.53% 18th. = Part Of Me = 10/32.26% 19th. = Bon Appetit' (Ft Migos) = 8/27.59% 20th. = Starstrukk (Ft 30H!3) = 10/27.03% 21th. = Unconditionally = 9/28.12% 22nd. = This Is How We Do = 8/20.00% 23th. = Thinking Of You = 10/25.00% 24th. = Rise = 13/14.44% 25th. = Who You Love (Ft John Mayer) = 24/26.67%

October 5, 20177 yr How is 'California Gurls' not "cheesy" if we're going down that road? Pretty sure 'Firework' could also be considered equally cheesy at least.
