December 5, 20178 yr Nobody is saying she should be credited retroactively, but she absolutely should be credited for this week's chart. They have done it many times in the past and I'm sure will do it many times in the future. If it's that big of a deal, make the original and remix chart separately. Because it's doing well enough to be #1 on its own. It's Ed Sheeran's song with the same lyrics. Anyone could have guested on it. Dido on Stan was another matter, seeing as they were her lyrics and melody lol. It happens.

It’s Bey’s power that’s making it go to number 1. That’s the point. Any artist can feature on any song so you’re point is truly ridiculous. Edited December 5, 20178 yr by MishaB
December 5, 20178 yr Bey fans thirsty for that #1 credit  This is a chart forum. I think every single person on this forum cares about the charts to some extent. Edited December 5, 20178 yr by MishaB

There is no doubt it has gone to number one but please don't kid yourself and think Beyonce is some massive power. Anyone could have gone on the remix and it would have gone to no1, the original version has sold so much and the song connects.
December 5, 20178 yr Lol. Anyway, did you guys know this is going to be number 1 in the US with Bey being credited? Queen. 3 decades in. You're an utter mentalist. I see nothing has changed in that respect since you were last around...
December 5, 20178 yr ________________________________________________________ Just trying to draw a line under this discussion. How's the Album battle going?
December 5, 20178 yr Author Is it safe to post in here  come on guys, I think the credit thing is getting a bit long winded :drama:
December 5, 20178 yr I just hope U2 get #1 album. Can’t be doing with Ed or Sam getting it for another week
December 5, 20178 yr Isn't this the woman whole basically steals writing credits, she cares. She hasn't added her vocals to the track for the hell of it she wants a hit. There is a reason she was on Eminem's new song too. The thing Beyonce has lacked in recent years is a big hit. Now you're trying the "stealing writing credits" nonsense? Really? It's sweet that you've ignored the fact that Beyoncé always does features between albums, you're only paying attention now because these ones have been very successful. But maybe you shouldn't speak for her intentions, when you have absolutely no idea what they really are.
December 5, 20178 yr Why is this even a debate? The song wouldn’t be #1 without Beyoncé, of course she deserves a credit

But maybe you shouldn't speak for her intentions, when you have absolutely no idea what they really are. Nope, she does that. It's very cheap. 800k sales are Ed's, not Bey's, who is just a vocal feature, like a sample really, on his song.
December 5, 20178 yr This thread seems to be going round in circles. In an attempt to change the record, would this be the longest a song has spent on the chart before going to #1? I seem to remember 'Thinking Out Loud' taking that record, has 'Perfect' spent longer in the Top 40? 'Perfect' probably would have done, had it not fallen victim to the three-song-per-artist rule when 'Galway Girl' was outselling it.
December 5, 20178 yr Perfect did drop out of the Top 40 before the 3 track rule though, just not the Top 100.
December 5, 20178 yr Y'all getting too heated about this, chill. At the end of the day the label will decide if she's credited or not because that's how this chart works. It's nothing to do with if she 'deserves' the credit or not. I'm sure Beyoncé gives zero shits about her success in the UK, she'll get her credited #1 in the USA where Billboard actually considers which version is driving the sales rather than which version is registered as the 'main' version for the chart. (That leads to silly situations like Britney being credited on 'S&M' for precisely one week and that counting as a #1 for her despite her remix having little bearing on the song's long term success but that's a different debate).
December 5, 20178 yr yes Dido was not credited in Stan but there's many cases, Seal was not credited in Adamski's Killer, Sophie Ellis Bextor wasn't credited in Groovejet Aloe Blacc was not credited in Wake me up etc etc All much more deserved as credits than Cé on this track. Really is it that important?
December 5, 20178 yr The album battle will be close and i really believe Ed Sheeran will take pole position right at the end. I would not be so keen on seeing a return to Number 1 for Sam Smith.
December 5, 20178 yr I have been sayin for weeks that S.S will get to no.1 again, so I think he will this week. Ed no.2. U2 top8 - 7, to be precise.
December 5, 20178 yr This is a chart forum. I think every single person on this forum cares about the charts to some extent. Right... I doubt there would be the same amount of Twitter hysteria though if it was going to be at #38 this week though rather than #1.
December 5, 20178 yr Plenty of features on the Eminem Album out on the 15th including Ed Sheeran , P!nk and Beyonce, next time they should just form a Supergroup to avoid any potential confusions on who is credited and who isn't.
