December 20, 20178 yr There is a part of me that wants Ed to steal back the number 1 at the last second. Both Ed and Eminem will be over the 100k which is always welcoming to see. Pink is impressive, her sales remain strong, i don't see Beautiful Trauma doing anything less than double platinum now. Pink has been very consistent in achieving successful albums.

P!nk is an interesting one.....it's generally said that artists have to change their image to remain interesting and relevant (particularly female artists), however I think P!nk has pretty much had the same image since the late 90's, simply evolved with the times and let her music stand out. I think it's a great album, and Beautiful Trauma the single deserves number one IMO.

December 20, 20178 yr Yep - which I think was late 90s although it could have crept into the early 00s. Her first single (at least in the UK) wasn't released until 2000. The "genre switch" for the second album happened in 2001. Edited December 20, 20178 yr by M4NG0
December 20, 20178 yr Her first single (at least in the UK) wasn't released until 2000. The "genre switch" for the second album happened in 2001. OK - I was living in the USA then and she may have released earlier. But give or take a few months I stand by my comment.
December 20, 20178 yr Excusing the obvious image and genre switch following her debut album of course  And her goth/punk phase between 02-04.
December 20, 20178 yr And her goth/punk phase between 02-04. Sure, if that's what you call goth/punk!
December 20, 20178 yr And much as I find Eminem’s album distinctly meh I’m not here for Ed getting it
December 20, 20178 yr Sure, if that's what you call goth/punk! Well she tried the aesthetic after Avril Lavigne co-opted pop punk for the mainstream then went darker with it. It was a time when Evanescence and The Rasmus got top 10s, when Nu Metal reached peak mainstream so she went with the flow.
