January 5, 20187 yr Anyone else getting True Blood vibes from this? It's like TB and SexyBack had a baby.
January 5, 20187 yr This is terrible  I'm having flashbacks to five(!) years ago when "Suit & Tie" was released. I grew to like that but this is perhaps even more disappointing than that was on first listen. Hopefully his "Mirrors" moment is released next Friday or just now preferably and we'll forget this ever happened x
January 5, 20187 yr First listen I was not so keen, but heard a few times now and I can see why it's been chosen as the lead. I agree there is not a massive hook, but the dubstep and the bassline is just so good. Like excellent. Not quite ahead of its time in the same way FS/LS was. I swear to God one of the basslines sounds just like the beginning of the Macarena too.
January 5, 20187 yr I think I'm enjoying it? I do love a big statement song to open a era so I can see where the Look What You Made Me Do comparisons. It's great to see/hear that he's still pushing the boundaries with popular music and Filthy just does that so my hopes for the era are still very much alive. As for the song it's self it's sonically interesting - can see it being a grower but also tiring quite quickly too? The moment that bassline comes in for the first time is pretty *stank face* for want of a better phrase :music:
January 5, 20187 yr Hate it right now. Sounds like Pharrell circa 2016 meets Rudebox. Neither of those are things I like. Poor show JT.
January 5, 20187 yr I definitely understand the divisive reception as this was a LOT to take in on first listen. But it's grown on me really quickly! Idiosyncratic banger that is going to stand out for miles on the chart next week  it's great to hear Timbaland production back! I have realised how many incredible songs JT has, need a singles rate at some point tbh (mine would be pretty loony in the first two eras )
January 5, 20187 yr I think I quite like it, it's refreshing hearing that late 00s Timbaland production again and as much as I enjoyed Can't Stop the Feeling, it's nice to see him pushing the boundaries. I can't see it being a massive hit though, I feel like he's got something else bigger lined up, probably a Suit & Tie-Mirrors situation.

There are no others atm so feel free to start one, whoever wishes to do so! --- Predictably, I am absolutely loving this. Once you're hooked that's it I think.
January 5, 20187 yr I can definitely feel a bit of a Prince vibe from this. Giving it a second listen and it's clicking with me more already (after having a bit of a wtf reaction the first time although in a mostly positive way), the instrumental in the last couple of minutes of the song is so good *.*
January 5, 20187 yr I AM SO HOOKED ON THIS SONG OMG IT'S LIKE SEBASTIAN STAN AARON TVEIT AND PENN BADGLEY ALL ROLLED INTO ONE AND COVERED IN CHICKEN NUGGETS.
January 6, 20187 yr I really like this. I hope the album is more like this, and I also hope there's lot's of variety too (which seems highly likely right now). The whole "1/4" thing confuses me, is it just because he's planning on release 4 songs in the leadup to the album release, or is he releasing 4 songs which will all be callbacks to previous albums/sounds?
January 6, 20187 yr I get the impression there's going to be 4 singles from the album and each music video is going to form an overall story - that was just my interpretation.
