And tbh, everyone knows Dido is Queen of Music.

End of Night ended so many careers and snatched so many weaves tbh.

and now, your official 2018 chart forecast x

~ As others have said it'll be another big year for hip hop/r&b- expect lots of success for Drake, Post Malone, Cardi B and Khalid on the international front and Not3s and Stefflon Don for the uk (a proper Skepta comeback could do well also). even more meme-related rap hits (think Bad & Boujee, Man's Not Hot, Gucci Gang) start popping up much to buzzjack's chagrin

~ Justin Timberlake (briefly) saves the pop charts with an amazing comeback single

~ Rihanna returns with a big #1 single, eventually lauded by critics as a modern masterpiece. Ariana does really well with her comeback too as everyone else has said~

~ Little Mix continue to have huge success in Q4

~ Jess Glynne will return with a big Top 5 single, not sure about Years & Years but i hope for them to do well x

~ a Clean Bandit/Dua Lipa collab happens and becomes buzzjack's favourite song of the year

~ Tom Walker becomes the next Rag'n'Bone Man/James Bay/George Ezra type success

~ Alessia Cara manages a breakthrough in the UK

~ mainstream dance continues down the trap-ish/future bass sound, spearheaded by Marshmello (also The Chainsmokers will come back and slay just to piss everyone off *.*) You'll still get the odd big house track smashing in the uk of course

~ zero indie/rock/alternative songs will chart top 40 the entire year (aside from Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, Coldplay, twenty one pilots etc but they have huge fanbases so that doesn't count x)

~ Mariah Carey gets the christmas number one

~ Nicki Minaj will defy the spirit of Eric Blob by scoring a Top 30 hit

~ Kanye West will release a new album then promptly delete it after a single day

Well I must have been hallucinating the countless comments I've read bashing her then

Confusing her with the very much hated on here Jessie J??

Now she is hated and justifiably so.

Feel It Still will be Top 10 I’m calling it now. As was shown by its chart success in Aus/US it can take off easily and gets high streams. Portugal. The Man & Tom Walker will be early 2018’s Rag’n’bone Man & JP Cooper respectively. (which apparently also means little-to-no follow up single success :P)
Not a pop-dance hybrid like Heatwave.

Heatwave is excellent though, could do with something like that though in the charts!

Errrr, hasn't she just done that?

Oops...didn't seem to catch Decline going top 40! Assumed it peaked just outside :o

Well she will have another possibly bigger hit in 2018 and as I said her style would go well with a Charli XCX feature I think.

As for Jess Glynne another Don't Be So Hard On Yourself would be good but I think sadly she will go down the tropical pop route like Rita Ora.

Ah yeah, except Rag’n’Bone Man’s follow up was a huge hit

Yes either this could happen or future bass will go completely this year and there will be no chart dance of any kind in the US, and Europe will continue with their own dance at the minute like deep/tech house in the UK and the likes of Ofenbach in Europe.

Marshmello could just go down the straight urban production route like he did recently with 'Danger' with Migos (that would be excellent for US urban music btw imo as it would mean more variety in production styles if stuff like 'Danger' became a trend.

Predictions for 2018:

1) Megan McKenna will release a country album and will be flop harder than her #1 itunes single.

2) Rihanna will feature on2 collabs before summer...then release her own single Q3 followed by album in Q4.

3) Anne Marie will release an album....it will go silver.

4) Louisa will release an album in Q4....it will not even go silver unless a single goes top 20.

5) Matt Terry will be dropped from his label.

6) Olly Murs will flop - his reputation isn't what it used to be.

7) Little Mix will attempt another big single in Q3 but it will not what they expect!

8) Grime in the UK will not do what people think it will.....going good now but people turn away from it.

9) Taylor Swift will have singles that are moderately successful....nothing big though.

10) Pinks tour will be huge!

11) Beyonce will surprise release...be a critical success but wont do anything to scream about outside the USA.

12) Celine Dion will release an english album....

13) Mariah will release an album and it will flop but she will get the x-mas #1.

14) Britney fans will defend the sales of a new album despite being less than the recent Leona Lewis album (I Am)

15) Justin Timberlake will not do a good job at the superbowl and his album will be delayed.

16) Camila will not have a plain sailing successful 1st era....it wont do better than gold.

17) Cardi B will release an album and it will be successful but wont match Nicki levels.

18) Spotify will continue to grow so much so that the OCC change the ratios.

some more...

Wham! will be #1 next December

Rak Su will have a successful debut era with at least two more top 10 singles

Rita will get a #1 album

JLS will announce reunion tour to celebrate 10 years since JLS happened

12) Celine Dion will release an english album....

15) Justin Timberlake will not do a good job at the superbowl and his album will be delayed.

Is it really a prediction if it's already been confirmed to happen? I predict Christmas will be on December 25th.

Also, JT ever gives a less than amazing performance.

- chart music will continue to be utter shit for the most part

- Zara Larsson will drop something new that everyone on Buzzjack loves, but it'll underperform

- Ed Sheeran will pop up 3 more times in the top 3 aside from 'River'

- this'll be a year where there's no definitive 'song of the year'

- The Chainsmokers will struggle with their lead single but get a top 5 at some point

8) Grime in the UK will not do what people think it will.....going good now but people turn away from it.

Yes but grime isn't really that big any more in the UK chart atm apart from Big Shaq - mans Not Hot, it is mostly dancehall influenced UK rap that represents urban UK music in the UK chart recently.

The media make grime to be bigger than it is I think. For example the BBC called J Hus 'a grime artist' when revealing the MOBO nominations on the news, but his recent stuff at least isn't grime.
