April 7, 20187 yr Ew. And you two are two of my faves on here... Gtfo. 'Goodbye' has always been a Spice fave for me :o 'Independent Women' can get f***ed though. Awful and bland. 'Bootylicious' is overrated af too. I agree with Jade who said it's become more of a novelty hit now over time. 'Wake Me Up' is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. It was definitely helped by nostalgia for me. 'In The Middle' though, I remember really loving it at the time, but amongst their back cat now, it sounds a bit dated and annoying. :(

April 8, 20187 yr Goodbye is a bit bland but I don't find it *that* offensive, I'd agree it's probably one of their weaker songs though (I ofc have a much more offensive Spice ballad opinion that's well documented :kink:). I think I underrate both In The Middle and Wake Me Up until something like this reminds me of them being bops!

Whether you love them or hate them, I don't think you can call them overrated. :o Fair enough if you're not a fan, but "overrated" is thrown around far too loosely nowadays, imo. It's like calling The Beatles, Madonna or Michael Jackson overrated, imo. They changed the landscape not only for girl groups but pop in general. Especially as it was dominated by boy bands and "brit pop" at the time!

It was a Top 5 hit for them in the UK after (iirc) it was heavily featured in an advert. It followed debut single 'On My Knees' and did considerably better than that. I'm personally surprised to see it as high as this but surprised, it's still a bop and still somehow sounds fresh hearing it now! A somewhat forgotten gem, but thankfully not on BuzzJack!
