Too Much is one of my Spice favs :(

Also agreed NMSS is better than Power.

NMSS has solidified itself as one of my all time faves and my fave LM song. It's flawless
Glad to see WFH drop out! Probably the song in this list I have the strongest negative opinions about! Just a shame it made it higher than Something New which I still like a whole lot :D

I Love It is a true top class STOMPER *.* shame we don't get hits like that anymore

glad the terrible trio of worth it/when i grow up/no more sad songs are out ~

my crystal ball predicts a Touch win x

'Too Much' is a lovely song. That's pretty much it for that haha. Iconic video though  I thought 'I Love It' was very of it's time too, however, hearing it for the first time in ages on a night out made me realise that it's still such a banger and sounds surprisingly fresh! 'Something Poo' out :cheer: It really is just a noise. 'Work From Home' deserved top 20 at least. It's one of the best modern day pop songs in general tbh. Such a killer melody and hook.

Yeah, 'Something New' is really just a racket to me. I hadn't realised its chart run was quite so terrible (deservedly so. :P). I never really 'got' WFH either.

NMSS has always been a favourite of mine, but it's properly clicked with me this past week. I'd probably rate it ahead of 'Power' now and I actually regret not giving it a 10. Still not a bad showing here considering how overlooked it seems to be as a whole.

christ.

('Viva Forever' to bomb out at #41 pls).

Biiiitch no!!! Don't come for VF! Go for Who do You Think You Are instead :D
I'm pleasantly surprised to see my other two would-have-been -1s also missing the top 50 (namely 'Shout Out To My Ex' and 'I Love It'), both deeply obnoxious and borderline unlistenable songs but I felt like the only one who thought that about them on this site at the time. 'Something New' would have been close to a -1 too, awaiting the day Joseph drops the façade of that being his fave GA song xx (jk). Not been too many losses since my last post here although I would rate 'About A Girl' quite highly among Sugababes' discog.

At #65 is another single by Girls Aloud, this time the fourth single from their second studio album 'What Will The Neighbours Say?' - 'Wake Me Up'. It came after #01 CIN single 'I'll Stand By You', and continued their success as it was another Top 5 hit for the girls. It's probably one of their less remembered hits these days but it's such a fun pop song, and we really don't get songs like this at all anymore. The chorus doesn't hold back at all and Nadine really shines on this song - holds up better with repeated listens than most GA songs imo.

At #64 is Destiny's Child proper breakthrough hit (in my opinion), 'Independent Women' - the lead single from their third studio album 'Survivor' which was probably their biggest era overall. It was a huge #01 hit for the girls in both the US and the UK and one of their best selling singles. It's still a staple on radio and is often referenced on TV and in Movies, a truly iconic song. Should be higher.

Sorry Spiceboy, but at #63 is another song by the Spice Girls. This time their third consecutive Christmas number one in 'Goodbye' often seen as a tribute to Geri Halliwell leaving the group which obviously caused a huge scandal at the time - I don't think I have ever seen a member leaving a group have such media impact before, Zayn could never. It was a huge #01 for them although it did actually face stiff competition from Chef (from South Park) and they were very nearly denied a #01 with it. I am surprised to see this fairly low, especially behind some of what's to come. I think it's a beautiful song and they all sound so good on it, their voices work together perfectly.

At #62 is the next single by the Sugababes to fall out, this time 'In The Middle' which was the third single to be taken off of their third studio album 'Change'. It was produced by Xenomania and received rave reviews, it was even nominated for Best British Single at the Brits! I'm very surprised to see this high up, I always thought this was completely forgotten about! I do really like it and it is a fun listen in a throwback sort of way - I don't think it should be higher than some of the songs but it didn't get many bad scores with most giving it a score of at least 7!

At #61 is another single from Destiny's Child, 'Bootylicious'! It was released as the third single from their album 'Survivor' and looked likely it was going to give them a third consecutive number one but unfortunately missed out to Atomic Kitten's 'Eternal Flame' of all songs :'). It was bigger in the US where it is one of their most known songs, often referenced and I remember 'bootylicious' even being added to the dictionary! It also gives them another iconic video, they really were on fire with music videos during their 'Survivor' era. I like the song but I see it as kind of novelty now, it's not one I go back to much.
Independent Women deserves better  Wake Me Up is fab too, although I love it I don't tend to revisit it much.
'Wake Me Up' and 'In The Middle' are absolute bangers! They both feel pretty forgotten about in amongst their respective discographies though as you say, Jack. I feel like both are elevated by really interesting Xenomania production. I remember people commenting that they were shocked that 'Wake Me Up' was a Girls Aloud song after it was featured in my NMTBJ round (which only features the instrumentals of songs and you have to guess the artist / song) - some presumed it was a song by an alternative act!

That chart run for IW is great for year 2000!!

In The Middle is our od place with those classics .

Goodbye , IW & Bootlicious should be so much higher !
