LOL I can't get over how dire that line-up is. I mean Simon and Robbie, cool. But Ayda is such a ridiculous signing as her name isn't one that will draw people in and she has absolutely no connections to the music business. Then they legit chose the worst singer from 1D.

 

 

I mean Cheryl was never the best vocalist in GA but it's just too much to have the combination of someone like that and an actress giving out advice :lol: At least Sharon, also the wife of a singer, was a manager in the music industry.

That is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. I'd assume it was a parody of these kind of shows but...it's real. I mean I know it's not at it's previous heights, but Christ, I cannot believe there was a person that actually said 'yes this is the judges line up we need to make our show better!'

They were definitely desperate to get Robbie then! He must have only said he would accept if they got Ayda a role. Who knows, Ayda might be entertaining but... that’s the problem - who does know?? She is literally a nobody - you may as well gamble on a member of public.

 

Then there’s Louis, whose success has essentially come by being lucky - that audition is awful!

 

It’s a shame cos Robbie is an amazing signing, you could have had the ultimate panel with two other qualified judges.

And he has an average voice and owes it all yo Guy Chambers too!

I’ve been out of the X factor loop for a while but There would be no way on earth I would return now what with Robbie and Louis!!! Possibly the worst panel line up I’ve ever seen... and that’s even before the shows aired 😂

Louis wasn't even that good as a support judge. At least we might get some unintelligent & humorous Tulisa-esque remarks or behaviour like choosing Led Zeppelin on GUILTY PLEASURES week.

I don't know if I'll bother this year. might watch the lives but lawd that judging panel is dire.

Half of me wants to watch to see how bad it gets, but the other half just cannot be arsed :lol: The panel probably needed a shake up but this is pretty much nailing its coffin. It was hard enough to watch last series and that was with a tried and tested panel. With the quality of the actual show spiralling, they shouldn't risk a panel like this when that's one of the fundamental things that can save the show even if the talent base is worse that year for example.

Completely agreed, I mean Robbie is fine enough signing but he is not big enough in this present moment for his wife who is sometimes on Loose Women to also get a slot... As said already in this thread it feels like Simon saw Ayda and thought oh here I can get my biggest wish for years and offered them both a slot. It's not even for me that she isn't in the music industry as such, it's just that she is known pretty much for being his wife (like yes she is on Loose Women but that's because she is the wife of a popstar lbr), apart from a few sitcom roles. If they got a big TV personality who wasn't in music but could fire things up a bit, cool, but she doesn't seem that exciting on Loose Women or when I've seen her on odd bits like Celebrity Juice. It just feels like she was dragged along so Simon could finally get Robbie, but they can't just go "OMG ROBBIE WILLIAMS!!1!" and then leave the rest of the panel to go to shit. The least interesting, least talented, and just worst in every way member of 1D just makes it even worse!

Still confused as to why Cheryl's not back!! I thought she had already been given a contract.

It's a bit of an odd panel but I'm not going to make any judgements just yet - there's every chance they could be a brilliant panel when we see them in action (and I'll get my first taste tomorrow as I'm going to watch the auditions). Robbie is a huge name even if he's not quite as relevant as he once was, and Louis is going to appeal to the youth. I've actually seen quite a lot of buzz already for his appointment - his singing ability is debatable but he was part of one of the biggest boybands EVER (and it makes sense that it's him over any of the others, he's the only one signed to Syco still). Ayda is the questionable one, but I'm keeping an open mind and I hope she'll be very entertaining.

Louis might not be a great singer but is co-writer of 90% of all 1D songs, has his own label and is managing his own girlband.

This is making last year looking like 2010!! :lol: just WHO are they trying to appeal to with this panel? if it's young people Robbie and Ayda aren't going to do anything for that and I don't think Louis REALLY will, he hasn't released a single for eight months (and it flopped) and it's not like he's always in the news. I miss old X factor :'(
