Blair was eliminated like 15 seconds ago and is still at the forefront of people's minds. Aja is a little bit further into the past. The kicker was that Aja's track has 0 traction online and Blair's is literally everywhere. Youtube was even recommending Blair to me and I don't typically go near the musical output of RPDR stars, it's getting a huge push

Actually just realised Terra Avium's song is one that was in Unknown Pleasures years ago as well! I don't remember it at all though so interested to rediscover it ;o (I know the original of Shpongle from UP too, hoping this remix will be better than the original as I actually remember that being slightly underwhelming by long UP entry standards :thinking:)

 

?!! WHAT, how did I not know that?! (Really this is the first I'm hearing of it, research didn't catch it) I'm normally so thorough with that and having looked that up, I participated and have good memories of that contest too and didn't vote for it :mellow: I guess I look hypocritical now after I've been firm in snubbing other past UP entries in the past :kink:

 

Oh well, it was five years ago so hopefully will still be a (re) discovery to some you. The real reason I sent it was because it was the theme to DARK, which was one of my favourite TV shows of the past year and it captures the essence of the show so much :wub:

 

On the topic of UP, Shpongle! The original is one of my favourite ever UP discoveries, it'll take a lot for a remix to beat that but I'm interested nonetheless, Cheering on U.S Girls to get some success here second time around, Rosebud is a good lil song (still gutted about Woman's Work bombing two years later), Hyped to hear more Anathema as well, looks a great bunch!

Gone through the whole semi now and I'll admit the 12 points were EASY this time because one song stood out massively and got insta-added to my spotify playlist. SO good! All-in-all a relatively strong Semi but a good chunk of meh songs I'd be fine with DNQ-ing anyway.

Voted nice n early while I have the time + motivation. Semi 1 was actually really strong for me, was a joy going through it, my top 4 especially are just soo good! And there were two notable songs just outside my votes especially that I felt bad leaving out.

Semi 1 is a good semi, some really unexpected tunes from unexpected countries lining my provisional top 10. I'll listen to semi 2 tomorrow.

 

If I get a chance I'll make MP3 packs while I'm doing that Pete, I have access to the links so you wouldn't need to send me them.
