Those RPO albums are such a joke now, enough already!

A matter of opinion and they're popular. I bought both Elvis and both Orbison ones and will get The Carpenters CD at some point. If they didn't sell well they wouldn't keep doing them. The Orbison and Holly ones are holding up quite well so far. Cilla's didn't do too well.

Carpenters will hopefully be Top 10 this week. Can imagine it'll be popular and is TV advertised.

There's no point getting uptight about the RPO albums, they'll more than likely disappear once the new year rolls around, they always do. As for The 1975, I'd take that early update with a lorry load of salt. They'll probably still be top 20 by week's end and if they get nominated for a few BRITs in January that'll more than likely bump them back to the top 10 for a bit.

Also just whilst we're on the subject did I read correctly in the papers this weekend that Jane McDonald is eligible to be nominated for BRITs this year? That'd be brilliant/hilarious if she won (albeit as likely as me growing wings).

What I'm curious to see this week is the album sales of artists like Little mix and Olly Murs who used to be sure fire in December
Little Mix have Strictly tonight so hopefully a boost of some sort for them in the albums chart (and a more comfortable drop for WLM). I'm really unsure though coz WLM doesn't really scream "album seller" to me, but we shall see. Their first promo slot since the Saturday of album release!

She is indeed - she had a top 40 album during the eligibility period, which makes her eligible for nomination. I very much doubt she'd get a nomination though, unless the Best Female category has incredibly slim pickings.

Was gonna say that must be a poor amount of female solo artists with new albums!
I had high hopes for her this year but she hasn't been deceived well commercially

Totally here for Jane getting a nomination

It hasn't stopped people getting nominations before though has it?! Her album went Top 20 at least.

Yeh true of course!

It’s the brits though emeli sands and Adele aside recent years have been very leftfield

Don't forget Stefflon Don also released an album. Female is quite tough (in terms of high profile releases) this year, but imma guess Ella Mai will be the "who?" Choice for the gp, mainly down to her US success.
I'm excited for Coldplay release. But in chart, Michael Bublé will be their biggest competitor. Streaming/Digital sales are too good for Buble. But i'm hoping Coldplay is better on physical sales.

I'd say Jorja Smith has a lot of chances of winning this

does Florence usually get nominated as Solo? or as Band?

sure her label will push for Anne Marie but she's the worst IMHO

Florence has always been nominated as solo.
