If I remember well, the song was originally from M5's sophomore album, it's the opening track, no Rihanna

then they re-recorded it with Rihanna for the album re-release

but 1st they released the single, then the album re-release

Rihanna also included it on the re-release of her album, but later, when released as a single it was not available anywhere, if I recall it correctly

Yes your right, I’m getting it mixed up with the Rihanna/JT (but he isn’t officially credited but appears in the video) collaboration rehab

If I never See Your Face Again is good! It's more the fact that Maroon 5 were far from a huge name at the time, it was 4 years after their imperial phase and their past few singles had flopped. They were on a continuous downward spiral and said they were going to quit music until Moves Like Jagger exploded.
I still think 'She Will Be Loved' is Maroon 5's biggest well known song in the UK? It completely passed me by how massive 'Sugar' actually was :o

I think that honour goes to 'Moves Like Jagger'.

I had no idea SWBL was so close to a million! :o That's great! Is it one of 2004's (?) biggest selling hits - sales were quite poor around that time weren't they? I know this includes sgreaming etc.. but even with streaming it's nice to see that resonate so many years after.

This Love deserves to be higher and one of my absolute fave M5 songs is ofc at the botton  'Won't Go Home..' is underrated. In fact that whole album is

Explain 'Beautiful Liar'
OMG THIS!

The remix of that is ok, but that song is dull af.

CRTFY was so much better in terms of Shakira's big collabs!

I think the fact they've (somehow) been generally very active, relevant and popular from then until them has massively helped, nostalgia-sales and streams. I fact they're one of very few mainstream pop acts getting effortless top 10/5 singles now as they were then.

Makes Me Wonder has a number 2 peak and yet Animals (27) and Cold (24) have sold more. It really goes to show that peaks in the long run don't matter... I really though that Makes me Wonder was one of their biggest hits in the UK, apparently it only is one of their best debuts and peaks.

If I Never See Your Face Again, while is far from a great song or single, it has a gorgeous video. And the Rihanna version of the song is much better than the original one (which doesn't say much :D )

I think Cold outselling Makes Me Wonder is purely because of the different sales climates they were released in, no way was Cold a bigger song.

Also doesn't help that Makes Me Wonder is rather forgotten these days though, whereas She Will Be Loved and This Love are remembered well and thus have very good streams (both are in their current Spotify top five).

THIS. I thought they'd broken up until MLJ came out!

I’m gonna have to M5 binge this weekend I think. Relive the classics and see if I can find anything halfway decent about Girls Like You.

They have a really good song on their latest album which is 11 mins long - 3 mins of vocals and then the rest is just the band jamming out!

I really like their album Songs About Jane and have only like Moves Like Jagger since that.

They should have ended it when the vocals finished. An 8 minute instrumental that doesn’t vary in all that time is exhausting.

I can only accept these, other songs are basically trash, especially One More Night and Sugar, they are atrocious Max Martin throwaways.

Their earlier work had much more of an identity and was much stronger material.

They definitely do - the band's musicians sound incredible live. They even brought on a 7th member for the latest album.

'Wait' which has incredibly bland production on the studio release especially sounds better live - especially the guitar riffs they put over it.

One of their keyboardists PJ Morton also has some incredible solo albums.
