It resulted in Kelly/her team being pissed coz she had wanted it as a single and felt she could no longer use it coz people would think she copied Beyoncè... there was a time on that tour where she would sing Halo over the top of AG :lol:
March 20, 20196 yr Nice to have a total for "Bleeding Love" with streaming included. I assume it'll overtake "Ghost" at some point as I believe it gets more trickle sales/streams. "Bleeding Love" was definitely bigger during its release though, especially when you take into account the huge numbers of albums that Leona also shifted as a result of the song. Shame there were no totals lower down the list though, I would've been interested to see what "Battlefield" and "Happy" are on now.

March 20, 20196 yr Author 'Halo' is proper flying up in sales - it only passed 1.2m in May 2018 and was on 1.055m in September 2017. Seems to be shifting ~5k a week which doesn't put it far from entering the 'old rules' Top 200 weekly chart. 'Bleeding Love' was on 1.275m in September 2017 (3k+ a week) whilst 'Ghost' was on 1.393m (2k+ a week).

The radio DJs kept mentioning the Halo situation whenever they played it.

Imagine being Calvin Harris and Rihanna comes knocking for a tune.....remember this was Rihanna coming off the end of the Loud era.....doesn't matter how talented Leona is...Rihanna was getting that song. Burn is a weird one....i love and prefer Leonas version (and i listen to it still) but its not a memorable song for Ellie at all....kind of a forgotten hit imo. Halo wasn't Leonas.....
March 21, 20196 yr Thankfully no room in his top 20 for the Glee Cast version of Halo ‘mashed up’ with Walking On Sunshine :lol: I agree Bleeding Love was a much bigger hit than Ghost, but every time I see one of these lists I feel like the streaming ratio skews the post-2013 songs too favourably.
