July 25, 20195 yr In no way can they be described as Remainers today. How some voted in 2016 doesn't have anything close to the relevance of signing up to a 'do or die' Brexit on 31st of October pledge. They've obviously decided to do this but are moderate tories.
July 25, 20195 yr Author On a side note Chris - when you've got a moment can you let me know the name of the Private Health insurer you are with (do you think it is good value for money, would you recommend them?) Cheers! I'm not with one. Am quite happy with the NHS.
July 25, 20195 yr I'm not with one. Am quite happy with the NHS. I think Kath was making the point that the ultimate aim of a lot of the people pulling the strings of Brexit have the ultimate aim of selling off the NHS and adopting a private healthcare system. There's a reason they look up to Trump so much. Plus you only need to look at that noggin Aaron Banks to understand his ulterior motive about Brexit.
July 25, 20195 yr I don't recommend AXA. I get private medical as part of my benefits package for work with AXA PPP and it's meh. There's some good bits but i'm currently battling with them to get something to get covered that the policy book says is covered but they're saying isn't.
July 25, 20195 yr I'm not with one. Am quite happy with the NHS. It was a rhetorical question Chris - because once Brexit arrives deal or no deal - the NHS will be gone. Not only will it be on the table in any deal with the US - it'll be the bloody centre-piece!
July 25, 20195 yr I'm not with one. Am quite happy with the NHS. Then why are you such a supporter of Boris' and no deal? It will be gone. :banghead: :banghead: Why are you refusing to look at facts and evidence. "Boris" yes...your mate...does not care about you AT ALL. Edited July 25, 20195 yr by mald487
July 26, 20195 yr @1154621625138143232 @1154508020908343297 Not even the face of Vote Leave as PM can placate the ERG. Brexiteers are already back to squabbling amongst themselves. Edited July 26, 20195 yr by Harve

Not only will it be on the table in any deal with the US - it'll be the bloody centre-piece! I'm sure I read somewhere yesterday that Boris has said he'll protect the NHS and in fact put more money in to it. No PM would dare sell it off as it would be political suicide.
July 26, 20195 yr Esther McVey as housing minister. LOL- she's been boffing Philip Davies the well known landlord who talked out the opposition bill on 'making homes fit for human habitation'.
July 26, 20195 yr Author Esther McVey as housing minister. LOL- she's been boffing Philip Davies the well known landlord who talked out the opposition bill on 'making homes fit for human habitation'. What has her sex life got to do with how she'll do her job?

July 26, 20195 yr I'm sure I read somewhere yesterday that Boris has said he'll protect the NHS and in fact put more money in to it. No PM would dare sell it off as it would be political suicide. Yes he did say that....but this is Blojo talking and nothing he says should be believed, especially when faced with no deal with the EU and desperation to get a US deal sets in. Trump has said they would only deal with the NHS as part of it (plus Tories have already hived off large parts to the private sector with terrible results, higher costs, and US pharma companies are now skyrocketing the price of drugs - at least in the EU you're protected from that, but the UK is currently paying shitloads higher prices for US drugs that the rest of Europe get much much cheaper). This is a sign of the future. It's lovely you have a trusting nature, but this is the reality we face I'm afraid.....
July 26, 20195 yr What has her sex life got to do with how she'll do her job? It illustrates her judgement might be compromised. A bit like May's judgement on offshore tax havens was compromised by her husband's job. She did nothing about them, basically.
July 26, 20195 yr They don't though. They want to make the benefits system fair and get rid of scroungers who aren't really ill. Well I am genuinely ill and depressed and won two appeals recently with one judge saying my case should never have gone anywhere near appeal. You were judged fit for work by the DWP twice and yet you think the system is fit for purpose? Rees Mogg and co think the system is fine as is. Rudd and McVey are always out defending it. You had to go to court TWICE to fight the decision of this system!

Rudd and McVey are always out defending it. You had to go to court TWICE to fight the decision of this system! It's definitely not fine and very flawed when so many DWP decisions are overturned on appeal. Something like 70% I think. Judges are fed up of seeing the same people every two years as well.
July 28, 20195 yr It's only like that because the tories want to make it look like they're tough on people in benefits when as you say 70% of decisions are over turned on appeal which is good for those people but the added stress for them is awful!
July 28, 20195 yr It's definitely not fine and very flawed when so many DWP decisions are overturned on appeal. Something like 70% I think. Judges are fed up of seeing the same people every two years as well. How do you suppose your playground chum 'Boris' will improve this?
July 28, 20195 yr Nadine Dorries, she who complained that May's deal with the EU meant that we would lose our MEPs and any influence over EU policy after campaigning for Leave, has been made a junior minister in the Dept. for Health. The Tories' attempt to show that talent and intelligence are not prerequisites for a ministerial job continues apace.
July 28, 20195 yr Author How do you suppose your playground chum 'Boris' will improve this? I think he has more pressing priorities at the moment. ;) Edited July 28, 20195 yr by Trump2020
July 28, 20195 yr How do you suppose your playground chum 'Boris' will improve this? fairly simple to find out - if they continue to contract out medical decisions to private companies paid to get as many off benefits as they can, when clearly they are not medical experts, then Johnson doesn't give a flying fistings. If they return it to experts and/or trained staff who are fit to make judgements, then he's serious about what he claims he wants to do for the needy in society. Should be clear fairly soon, if his government survives beyond Oct 31st. Re Nadine Dobbies, my observation is that being intelligent and compassionate and honest is a positive disadvantage when it comes to high office in the Tory Party. No-one is too dumb to promote. Those who fail on all 3 grounds are quids-in. usually literally.
